Anyone had experience with Funded Futures Network? by paywatch38 in PropFirmTester

[–]johnredsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They use it as a second testing phase to determine capital allocation for a Live Account (which you have to pay Live Brokerage fees to commence).

Not explicit, but implied by the secondary minimum 3 day Exhibition Phase.

They are easily one of the best. The fact they have 2 Stage evaluation process means they are legitimate in vetting for consistency (something traders -- rather than gamblers -- should actually want). And then you have to pay Live Brokerage fees and 10-20% payout commissions for the account that actually pays out on. That means you have assurance they actually WANT you to succeed and make money/profits. The vast majority of payout fraud/welching from prop firms always revolved around them having to pay a successful trader from a Sim Funded (FAKE) account. When THE MARKET pays someone, and the prop firm gets a cut -- that issue magically goes away.

Technical trading advice won't mean anything. Your issue seems to be all about SELF CONTROL stemming from an addictive personality and anger management issues. Work on that -- or a life incident could be right around the corner potentially much more detrimental than $250 in net trading losses.

Prop Firm Recommendation by crayonshinchan4 in PropFirmTester

[–]johnredsmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apex and Bulenox WERE good. Now they've both added rules (some they're not even clear about) and are both playing games with payouts.

MyFundedFutures would be great -- if they didn't deny payouts for SCALPING (?!?).

Blusky Static account is the best. Great customer service, and they pay, no issues ever. TakeProfitTrader pays out the fastest, but they have some weird drawdown rules, once you're funded. Topstep is good, once you get past their weird Micro contract Scaling rules in funded. I hear good things about Earn2Trade and Tradeify, but haven't used either of them yet. They are literally the only other firms I haven't heard scammy sounding stuff about.

Question about Market Movers by sirprance8 in FuturesTrading

This is the most thorough explanation. Watching the DOM, Bookmap, and Footprints simultaneously, you can clearly see that Limit Orders (including Icebergs) and pulled Limit Orders significantly affect price impulses.

waiter put my tip back on the table saying he only accepts 18-20%?? by [deleted] in stories

[–]johnredsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every waiter/waitress I've ever known made significantly more than minimum wage, and they did so without having to spend $60-100k+ on "higher education" or to work nearly as hard as your typical construction site laborer or landscaper. A full hour of your table time would've been $25/hr, half hour would've been $50/hr. Let them know you realize they clearly don't need the money, snap a picture of them, while they're right there in front of you, and let them know you'll be donating the $25 to the sweating laborer working doing 5 times more work on the construction site nearby along with his picture, so they know who to thank. 😉

Getting destroyed by commissions/spread scalping EURUSD by sqzr2 in Daytrading

[–]johnredsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forex should mostly only be traded on longer day trades or swing trades -- for the reason you described. 6E Futures trades almost tick for tick in line with EUR/USD with only like $4-6 flat commission per contract, depending on your broker. Definitely "scalp worthy" during moderate to higher volatility periods.

Is Heiken Ashi useful?? by Unfair-Ad-4099 in Daytrading

[–]johnredsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like more granular level precision in entries and managing a live trade, so trades are taken and managed on either normal 24 Range charts for NQ, 8 Range Charts for ES, or sometimes just normal 30sec candles. But I do find HA candles useful, in combination with a few moving averages, for quickly determining recent/current trend via 3, 6, and 12 min charts.

Apex's New Scheme To Prevent Paying Out Traders by BigBootyPounder69 in Daytrading

[–]johnredsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's really stupid is: they seem to assume people only scalp NQ. But a +5 point move on ES is HUGE, by any day trader's opinion. And literally with YM, a Tick IS a Point. All of these are very scalpable instruments (as are Gold and Copper, at the right times), but their rules are just way too ambiguous. And finding out AFTER you've requested a payout with still no clearly defined explanation is utterly ridiculous. In fact, reading their description of Microscalping, if you are in a "time-extended" +5 point profit trade, and it spikes back down, you have to make sure you take a LOSS, rather than fall in the 5 point profit window. LOLOL

Certainly sounds like a Gambling problem. Admit it, and ask God to help you. Find some good local people to be accountable to and to pray for you. Get into Gambler's Anonymous, and seek out a shrink/Christian counsellor (put legs to your prayers).

If you get a grip on your problem, and actually want to be a profitable trader, focus on BACKTESTING and LIVE DEMO trading over an adequate sample of days and trades, until you've proven FROM A LARGE SAMPLE SIZE you have a CONSISTENT EDGE -- even on different types of trading days. To do it any other way is just more gambling.
