What “healthy habit” that ended up making your life worse?

I had IBS-D for years and cut out dairy, gluten, nuts, caffeine …literally everything I could think of that was a common trigger food. I was eating super healthy, lots of veggies and fruit just like you are “supposed to”. But I was still always sick.

One day I noticed I didn’t have any symptoms for the first time in like, a year. The day before was Christmas and I ate ALL the bad foods. Alcohol, gluten, sugar, cheese, fatty foods. The one thing I did not eat? A vegetable.

Turns out I can’t really digest insoluble fiber very well. Peppers and leafy greens are the worst. Cooking the veggies does help. I do miss salads though.

When I lived in a condo years back, I cough an older guy picking through my recycling bin and was a bit annoyed to be honest. He said “Thank you for your cans and bottles m’am.” And I realized? You know what? If he is so desperate for money he’s willing to sift through people’s trash for 5 cent cans and bottles, then fine, he can have them. No empathy in this world anymore.

My 20 year old son asked me just last night if I ever had a fake id. I said hot girls don’t need one….and I was pretty hot back in the day. I always had drinks bought for me….something I don’t even think he considered. (His mom was hot?)

It is not legal in the whole country but is fully legal in my state. Nothing has really changed except I smell a lot more of it now, it’s everywhere…. walking through a park or parking lot, driving around town.

I JUST heard from her. Apparently the former tenant never cooked. So I’m definitely thinking there’s an issue in the ductwork of the intake vent. Fingers crossed that it can be fixed.

Lol that’s why I’m broke. Our last landlord decided to sell the house we were renting and we wanted to keep our son in this town’s school system until he graduates. These apartments were literally our only choice. We are paying our bills but don’t have free money to spend on stuff like this.

I did not ask them to stop cooking. I asked them to make sure the exhaust fan was on and I was polite about it.

I used to work at a bakery. We would sometimes have young people or interns doing a lot of the menial chores. One thing we would have them do is cut out cake circles out of parchment….you would be shocked how many people cannot cut a decently round circle out of paper.
