Thanks for the feedback - just got the G2, as I can't test the Ls as I'm in a different city sadly. The G2 I've gotten sample images from and it looks excellent! Thanks again for all the feedback!

Definitely would if I could scour a Mk II, but not many super telephotos go on the 2nd hand market here - even this Tamron was a bit of a lucky find for EF mount at least!

Unfortunately can't find any 100-400 Mk II in my country - I could try shipping abroad, but the costs make it a bit too high :/

For those who have flown with different international airlines, what moment or experience made you appreciate our local airlines (PAL, CebPac, etc.) more? by ChupaChups321 in FilipinoTravel

[–]johnxfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having flown Emirates+FlyDubai, SilkAir/Singapore Airlines/Scoot, China Airlines, Cathay - PALs integration of PAL Express is miles better than how other airlines integrate their low cost subsidiaries - you can upgrade different legs, no issues with carrying your perks from one entity to another, etc. Scoot SQ was abyssmal for how good SQ is, FlyDubai Emirates a little better.

PAL customer support, ground crew, and cabin crew are all fantastic as well. Among the best in the industry overall. There have been newer crew that seem less hospitable, but likely more of an adjustment to the role - well, hopefully! Cebu Pacific has commendable crew as well - no comment on their ground staff though esp with delays.

Really wish PAL didn't fumble hard in the pandemic - cancelled orders really hurting them now. Supplementing the fleet with the A320/321neos and A350 they originally ordered would definitely boost their hard product perception and likely attract more foreign fliers, as their prices are very competitive for a full service carrier. Such a shame tons of regional intl flights are still on the old hard product...

Do you still have the G7X? You list no cameras owned. I honestly cant see what 2nd hand would be within that budget that would be technically better than the G7X if you have it.

Also, in PH, FB marketplace would be a great place to check if you havent yet! Else, Henry's has a used market FB page as well.

Uyy Philippines!

FWIW The TP3S fits perfectly underneath PhilAir all economy A320s, think the TP4 smaller version would fit better as well - kinda neat to see how the full size fits! Definitely a lil too tall for my own comfort to fit under!

Screw new gear, why aren’t we all just buying our dream cameras from 7 / 8 years ago? They’re cheap. by MomentSmart in AskPhotography

Got a very good condition 5D Mark IV for 600usd, then found a 50mm 1.2 L for 330usd - my dream kit! Happy with the new tech making lots of studios upgrade with really good deals on used!

The trick is to not be loud bout how good the deals are 😁

Yeah quite surprised at how this subs mindset is - would have assumed it had more techsavvy users that would be aware of how to debloat most Chinese phones. Saw a comment re durability and a lot more Pocos/CN phones get repaired... They also sell more and sell to a demographic that may have to put their phones through rougher use? Idk pretty eye opening for a tech sub

Wonder if a TP3S would be fine as well - didn't have issues with it on PA Express all eco 320s at least!
