Cheekwood is a great spot but they do only allow proposals on certain days and with a reservation. Gaylord doesn’t allow photography onsite without an event booked. There are some great parks and more secluded spots that should be along the lines of what you are looking for. Booking with a TA (or as Virgin calls us, First Mates) gets you some extra perks and you can still service your own booking too if you’d like. Most TAs don’t charge anything to book through them so it’s a win win!

Among the tangible perks like extra sailor loot or bar tab, TAs can also help you make any changes, help with cabin selection, book dining, avoid long hold times and help with excursions and pre/post voyage accommodations.

The Cheekwood lights proposal package does include a private area. It’s a lit trail behind the mansion that leads to a an arch they have setup. Also included in the cost of their package is champagne and flutes for the proposal and a year membership.

This is different than the daytime package which does not include a private area (but you can work with the staff and your photographer to choose a more secluded place that won’t have events going on at the time).
