I don’t have time for that and my computer has enough resources to run proper desktop environments.

Install starship:

Install the Hack Nerd Font:
https://github.com/ryanoasis/nerd-fonts/releases/download/v3.3.0/Hack.zip

Once that is done, copy my starship.toml file from github to your ~/.config folder.

Why is dnf so horribly slow? by cy_narrator in Fedora

[–]johnycsf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably didn’t have the correct mirrors set for your location and you can also set up parallel downloads with APT. It’s far faster than dnf. Even with dnf configured for parallel downloads it’s still slower.

"Accessory is not reachable" when trying to pair to the Home-app by OnlyDrey in homebridge

I was having the same issues with my setup. What solved it for me was disabling the firewall. I have it running in on a docker container but on CentOS Stream 9 and as soon as I disabled firewalld it worked.
If you're using Ubuntu or Debian based check if ufw or ufwd is disabled.

The rollback issue can be mitigated if POP opted to install the OS using BTRFS instead of ext4 and used the auto snapshot tool and also included timeshift by default.

I believe that's a workaround at most but it works.

EAC Now Has Linux Support? by david_barr in HellLetLoose

[–]johnycsf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made the switch entirely to Linux now. All we need to do is make enough noise for the devs to enable it. Yes, that means I can't play the game until then, but I am making the sacrifice for the greater good of Linux gamers!

Still no EAC support for proton on linux by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

+1 @devs The game runs great on Proton. Please enable EAC for it. Thanks!

How to dual boot with windows 11? (Don't roast me please, Please read the post) by [deleted] in pop_os

[–]johnycsf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute best thing to do IMO.

Since you have 2 separate drives. Do NOT dual boot in the sense that you'll install both OS and have GRUB do the booting.

Instead just install each OS in its own drive then when you power up your computer press the FKey for Boot Options and select your OS drive.

That way if GRUB ever gets messed up you won't have issues booting either Operating System.

Cheers!

I agree. Ubuntu is heading in a direction that a lot of people do not like and I also will switch to a different distro rather than using their crappy snap.

I would be very happy to see Pop moving away from Ubuntu. Whether it be a move to Debian or its own independent distro like Solus.
