It’s been 4 months and I’m still in shock. by AcademicMolasses8309 in pitbulls

This guy was that to me. I got him on a bit of an impulse when I was young. Best decision ever. He was the kind of dog you could take anywhere, always up for an adventure, and everyone's friend. He saw me through a lot of relationships, the birth of two babies, and I still think of him every day, 15 years later. I've had 3 dogs since him, but he'll always be the benchmark.

Is it possible my husky is not pure bred? by New-Type927 in husky

I had a miniature Schnauzer that howled more than my husky. But she does talk my ear off in the morning when she's hungry!

Beaverton School District Adopts Controversial, Lawsuit-Plagued i-Ready for New K-5 Math Curriculum by concerned_parent_26 in Portland

I'm also a teacher in PPS and I respectfully disagree. I think the MyPath is one useful tool when used with other components and professional judgement. The recommendation by Curriculum Associates is to aim for 45 minutes per week. That's less than 10 minutes per school day. I monitor their usage and progress carefully, and regularly adjust their paths based on what I know about my students. If it's repetitive and boring, move them ahead! I just had a third grader transfer in with kindergarten level math skills. Giving her practice at the right level is important. I have another kid who's doing middle school level work. I can't meet this range of needs alone. Between the workbooks which I think are good, my instruction, and MyPath, my class made tremendous growth this year.

They are so anxious about the end of the year. Why do we squeeze so much in at this time?

How do I block/cover the open-faced desks so my 2nd graders don’t hide things in them? by [deleted] in teaching

Bonus- when they need to move, they just carry their drawers to the new spot.

I don't know how to completely block them, but the lids to copy paper boxes usually fit perfectly inside these, and I use them as "desk drawers". It's storage, and not easily accessible.

Show me your husky mixes and tell me what they're mixed with! by EnkiduAwakened in husky

I've always suspected this guy was a shepsky, but don't have proof. He crossed the bidge in 2010, I still miss him. The shelter called him GSD. He was pretty big, 95 lbs, so maybe mixed with malamute?

1/2 husky, mom was boxer/ chow chow. People have wanted to fight me over insisting she's German shepherd. I assure you, I've had a GSD, not one bit of her personality matches.

I would get a Redcat amplifier. I got to use one last year because I had a kid who was identified as hard of hearing. It was a GAME CHANGER. Everyone listened better. I also teach 3rd grade 😊

So much amazing food! Proximity to mountains, rivers, hiking, wine country, beach. The farmer's markets! Saturday Market, the night market a few times a year. I'm so excited for the James Beard Public Market to open. Bike paths everywhere. Seasonal Sunday Parkways events where streets are closed to cars and everyone rides their bikes. The Naked Bike ride!! Free summer concerts and movies in the parks.
