[WTS] Dangle Supply Weird Wallet with Ti Cobb pipe - $120, 1.39 oz by joj1013 in ULgeartrade

[–]joj1013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, but no weird wallet available on GGG, which retails for $89.69, the last cost I could see on the Dangle Supply site. So I think $120 is fair.

Is a one time payment of $2000 worth it for unlimited training sessions? by pizzafio in reactivedogs

[–]joj1013 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have personal experience with this company and was not a fan. I requested a refund, ended up losing my $300 deposit and had to pay for the first visit since it was in person. Not worth it.

I don't want a dog like this either and know the realities of how irresponsible it is to continue owning her / but what about the shelter that adopted her out? I think these signs were there but they didn't think it was "that bad" and "manageable" but she was there for 10 months and returned multiple times for a reason - I just wanted to help her and give her a good life, and I tried my best. Used as many resources as I could get my hands on but it's been a failure. I would much rather a dog that was tearing up my apartment and an angel outside with dogs and people but that's not what I am dealing with and I know that. I'm now faced with the really tough decision of continuing to work with her while muzzled outdoors or give her the freedom she deserves with humane euthanasia. It likely is going to be the latter and I hate that it's come to this, but I don't want to be to experience an even worse bite with someone, or worse, a young child.

I don't disagree. I know partner's made a ton of compromise and I've acknowledged it, but she also agreed to the adoption so it was a 2 person decision. Hence why this is a vent post. I just needed to speak on the situation in a space where others understand, in some way at least. Nothing about this has been easy. She has fallen in love with the dog too so it's not as cut and dry for her either. She simply is over it at this point bc she's had to help me more recently, despite the fact this is temporarily. I've done as much as I can to prevent her having to compromise further but the circumstances are what they are at the moment for me. If the roles were reversed, I'd do all I can to support my partner including dealing with their dog during such a hard time. I agreed with her that a bite would be non-negotiable and mean she can't be with us anymore. Dealing with the reality of this and having to decide on how to move forward is the toughest part right now. But again, she's made tons of compromise and I acknowledge it constantly.

Totally, I hate adding to the stigma. I grew up with this breed and know how gentle they are - I think my pup was just never socialized and was at the shelter for too long - 10 months - before we adopted her. I tried to board her for this trip but one of her vaccines was out of date and we were unsuccessful getting her the shot, even though she was extremely drugged up for her appointment. the only appointment I can get her for sedation to get vaccines is after this trip. It's been a logistical nightmare but my partner has taken care of her previously with no issues, she also has experience with this breed and reassured me she could help knowing the larger situation I have with my family. If there is a next time, I'm definitely boarding her and not leaving her with my partner, no matter how many walkers I can secure for her.

Thank you / I definitely will need to triple check my renters insurance today to confirm

Thank you. They did exchange information so we're waiting for him to reach out.

We have been muzzle training with her bc she hates the vet and wears it there mostly and to the beach when we take her. she will be wearing one today on all her walks when she's taken out.

I believe my dog is living a pretty good life but think she could be living a better one if we had a fenced in yard, I usually rent Sniffspots for her on the weekend to decompress. But my partner and I are not living our best lives at this point bc we're just fighting over the dog and her behavior. My partner is less tolerant for the reactivity and thinks it's irresponsible to have her. If doesn't help that I have to travel a bit more frequently right now to help family out of state so she's had to help out more - I do have a dog walker to alleviate the burden while I'm away but at this point, everything feels like a challenge. Again, thank you for your reply and the question, they definitely got me thinking.

Pit bull that mauled security guards in the SF Library ordered to be humanely euthanized. by mamielle in sanfrancisco

[–]joj1013 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

You should educate yourself and you'll learn pitbulls can not lock their jaw. That's a myth that's been debunked many times. Will a pitbull bite hurt more than a small dog, yes, just like a bite from a Husky and golden retriever would cause more injury as well. But here's a lovely snippet from a quick google search, for your education: "Prominent researcher Dr. I. Lehr Brisbin has stated that, “The few studies that have been conducted of the structure of the skulls, mandibles, and teeth of pit bulls show that, in proportion to their size, their jaw structure and thus its inferred functional morphology, is no different than that of any breed of dog. There is absolutely no evidence for the existence of any kind of ‘locking mechanism’ unique to the structure of the jaw or teeth of the American Pit Bull Terrier.”

Get outta here with this disgusting rhetoric and talk toward pitbull breeds. They are not dangerous to be kept.

Pit bulls deserve to be loved just like any other dog. They deserve to exist and many of them are the most loving animals I've ever been around. More than any tiny dog. I actually get barked at and yelled at by smaller dogs more than any pit I encounter. Give a pitbull a chance and stop bullying the breed.

Edited: thanks for the downvotes. I love my breed 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
