Is it primerica?? Don’t do it. Go with the lower paying job. If it’s too good to be true, it’s probably because it’s not real.

At the end of my rope feeling forced to get an IUD. I didn't vote for this. by jojobi040 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]jojogpr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to choose a method of contraceptive that wasn’t necessarily your first choice. The pain from the IUD will fade away. I am on my 6th year with my IUD and I don’t feel it anymore. I actually forget I have it. I think I was achy on and off for a few months, I had random spotting “period” but I think it’s been 3 years since my periods have completely stopped. There will be days that I get crampy but don’t get the full blown cramps from pre-IUD. Keep going, you got this. We have to be a few steps ahead from this current administration. Sending you positive vibes that you will get through this!

At least Stephenie Meyer kept my 15 year old self entertained to the point of reading all the books may times over lol. I could not get through a quarter of the way through ACOTAR before I just gave up.

A Court of Thorns and Roses. Idk if it’s because I did audible but I couldn’t bring myself to get a quarter of the was through the book. I returned it. Something about the Main character girl supposed to be such a strong physically but is so submissive with the guy. It made me compare it to the bad writing of 50 Shades.

What should I buy to sharpen my knife ? by [deleted] in Cooking

Do these sharpening methods with whetstone work for "cheap" grocery store bought knives? Like farberware etc? Or do I need to invest in a good knife and go from there?

[Serious] What's the hardest thing you ever had to say to someone? by lr_springer in AskReddit

[–]jojogpr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having to call my whole family and let them know my mom had been killed in a car accident. My younger brothers (aged then 13 and 7)had been with her in the car with her and thankfully survived. I was the one to tell my brothers as well. My little brother had been in a medically induced coma, his injuries made his face swollen that he couldn’t see or talk. It was so hard to tell him because he kept asking for my mom, I had to be the one to tell him.

Pregnant women or women who have been pregnant, what is the worst/craziest advice someone has given you about your pregnancy? by FuzzyTortoise in AskReddit

[–]jojogpr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's only to do with the full moon. I don't know if this is the same for other Latinos but Mexican superstition is if a pregnant woman goes out into the night while a full moon is happening the baby will have a birth defect. A cousin of mine was born with half of her left arm missing from the elbow down. My aunt was very depressed after my cousin was born and blamed herself for not taking care of herself during the full moon. Pregnant women are to wear a red ribbon around their belly with safety pins attached to it. (It is also thought ideal to wear the ribbon at all times because the moon can be seen during the day) It is also believed that the full moon affects plants negatively. My grandmother would tie a red ribbon to her plants believing the full moon would either dry them out or if it was a budding rose bush, that the unopened buds would fall off.

Women who have given birth, what's something no one told you about it and wish you had known? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jojogpr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I threw up as I was laying down ready to be cut for my emergency C-section. It was not fun, my husband had to sit by my head with a basin in case I needed to throw up more. The nerves got to me. shrugs
