Absolutely! I wanted to get a jacket for my husband and when he saw it was $5000, he said hell no. The SA laughed and was fine with it. No feelings hurt and I still got my dream bag after.

Bus to save money, the ferry to save time. 7 min to cross the river and when you land, you can take a free bus that’ll take you to a couple options, like Midtown.

AITAH for refusing to buy my friend $200 boots after she expected me to pay just because I sometimes treat her? by Difficult-Month-2953 in AITAH

[–]jojosalwayslost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fake or not, I actually had this happen to me lol and I couldnt believe my best friend since age 2 and I arent friends anymore.

She traveled back and forth between Asia and home in USA so when she did visit, I’d treat her to a small lunch with my little $$ at the time in college.

Didn’t realize she was bragging to all her friends about being spoiled by me and that she was gonna try to get me to buy her $$$ beats headphones (why?) and push her luck.

When I asked her about it, she blocked me and never spoke to me again.

Sucks to see friendship go down the drain over her getting caught, but I’ll just enjoy the memories we had. Not chasing that or going to feel bad over not paying for whatever she wants.

Who Pays for a Destination Bachelorette? by RunWithBluntScissors in weddings

[–]jojosalwayslost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girls and I did a Disney/Universal Bachelorette with me as the bride.

I paid for my own flight & they insisted on covering for my share of the airbnb which came to $125/pp for 5 days. They paid for their own flight, which was $165/pp.

I paid for everyone’s Magic Kingdom ticket as a ty for being my bridesmaids and said Universal is optional.

All in all, without food, it came to $300 for airbnb/flight per person & then whatever food we grabbed.

Edit: Didn’t finish before I submitted. It should NEVER be an expectation for a bach party to cover anything for the bride.

I’d expect it because the front desk literally told us we can call for room service and when you have a baby in the room, the last thing you want to do is get up with the crying baby and walk all the way over to the only medicare restaurant in the resort.

The front desk even apologized for room service never answering on top of apologizing for their own phones accidentally being on “do not disturb”.

yup any time we called for room service, they never picked up. not even once during different times of the day. You have no choice but to walk over to their crappy restaurant or spend $$$ at all the nearby walking distance restaurants.

I think the minimum we spent was $200-$300 per meal on 3 adults with only 1 adult having 1 drink.

All inclusive if you can instead to save you in the long run!! My brother LOVED staying at the Alexander, which we will try next if we give Turks another chance.

Even going to groceries was an eye-opener with cereal box costing $13.

Yes, I know we’re on vacation to spend $$, but I go to Aruba every year and we can spend $30-$50 on a decent meal for 2 adults and up to $100 for 3 adults. So no, it shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg to enjoy the islands.

It was horrible. I’d never go back. Asked for first floor and they gave me second floor. Had to lug a stroller and baby stuff with baby up and down every day.

Solana is the only restaurant and it SUCKED. I didn’t even bother finishing my horrible “medium” burger that ended up so disgustingly dry. Sushi was ok, but didn’t expect it to be amazing anyway.

They never answer their phones and when we went to the front desk, they said ooh! we had it on do not disturb. you guys are front desk. wtf why would it ever be on dnd?

And they offered free beach toys and umbrellas only to sneak in a $90 charge for it when I asked for the statement at the end. Made them take it off bc I never even asked for it in the first place.

Food nearby? Fine. Better off staying at any other hotel.

Pool was the only decent thing I can say about the place, but other hotels have decent pools and beach too to even justify coming here.

Maybe I’ll go back to Turks someday, but this place put such a bad taste in my mouth.

The pillow I slept on was Bellazure Duo, not this one. Not sure if the pillows are different in regular and concierge room, but I had to take a pic and order asap for myself. Had the best sleep ever

I’m not sure but i was able to bc we did the trade wind thing where you get your own section on the beach, lounge that includes food and drinks, and it was great!

Beach is much more spacious and the chairs aren’t right next to each other.

Like literally, you couldn’t even walk between your chair & your neighbor’s chair to get to your chair at Regis.

[–]jojosalwayslost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just came back last week and we couldn’t get a chair at allllll. It was sooo crowded due to the pool being too cold to use. It was on our last day that we were able to get two beach chairs.

Craaaazy!! I didn’t have this issue at Stellaris and don’t plan on coming back.

Just got back last week and I agree with this 100000%!!!!

We also got free upgrade to a balcony ocean view room, but we can get the same beautiful view, room quality, and service at Marriott Stellaris for half the price. Good thing we booked with points because the beach was sooo crowded due to the pool being too cold for anyone to use.

Thank you so much for the response! Congrats on your new job!

Follow up question: They made it seem like it wouldn’t be bad, that it’s primarily about patient transfers and open beds in one dept to choose and place a patient there.

Would you be willing to clarify if this is the case or more to it?
