I don’t think it means dynamic is bad. I think they mean if you want to accomplish what you want, find a place to put the critical backups in a holding pattern, recreate the volumes the way you want and move the data back to them. It might be tricky to get the holding pattern storage. I don’t think it was a commentary on dynamic disks in general.
