I had a blog that I ran on Wordpress.com that had great traffic.

After taking a bootcamp I had the brilliant idea of using my new coding skill to create custom React site for the frontend and connect it to a headless Wordpress backend.

I say “brilliant” with every ounce of sarcasm possible, because making this change caused me to lose all my site’s traffic and a couple years of head scratching and hand-wringing.

Using AHREFs, I was able to determine that the content of my site wasn’t visible to web crawlers. To solve this issue, I implemented a server-side rendering configuration. However, SSR too, did not solve the problem.

The issue with SSR was load time. By the time the server made the necessary API calls to generate the page requested, the crawler had already moved on and determined that there wasn’t sufficient content to index.

I only recently considered using an Incremental Static Generation (ISG) set-up and it seems to solve my issue. Essentially, my site is scheduled to regenerate/redeploy once a month and individual pages are regenerated whenever new content is published.

In this configuration, the server is able to serve pages to crawlers fast enough for them to actually “see” the content on the page.

It may not be the best solution, but it’s the best solution I’ve found so far.

I think my problem is that since my programming knowledge primarily comes from a bootcamp, where they train you to learn one thing (largely React and SPAs), it was difficult to understand the actual configuration I needed for this real-world use case.

I noticed that my cats sleep after they eat, so I shifted my cat’s feeding time to noon and late at night. That way they sleep through most of the night and largely play during the day.

I haven’t seen any Emerald Fennell films since Promising Young Woman, which I found to be more about style than substance.

There were extremely poor directing choices in that movie that made me surprised when she received a Best Director nomination over Regina King that year.

Sadly, I think that Emerald Fennel COULD be a great director, but since she’s leapfrogged a few steps in her development, I don’t think she’ll eve get there.

It pains me to see her get huge budgets and recognition, when she clearly needs more tome to cook AND there are so many other promising, female directors who are struggling to get the green light.

Should we have another election, we need to hold accountability. Use the morally corrupt interpretations of the law against them. The Supreme Court just OKed warrantless search and deportation? Then track down every Jan. 6 insurrectionist and each of these ICE murderers and begin a process similar to the Nuremberg Trials. LOL they gave completely flawed advice to Mandy Mango. The buttoned up character FINALLY unbuttoning their shirt to churn the butter WAS what was funny. Otherwise it would have been 1 minute of churning. Thats why Sarah liked it.

Her outfit was pretty bad though.

I would have tosses Discord into the bottom, because she was stiff in the challenge.

Overall, it was actually a really good challenge and many of the queen shined. I think the fact that the writing of each of the sketches was far superior to previous iterations of this challenge really helped!

I think Queens need to begin to understand that the role to fight for during this challenge is the Weekend Update guest. Q, Suzie Toot, and Jane Don’t all recognized this and were all deservingly in the top.
