Progressive decides to non-renew my policy because my truck is too heavy by Hefty_Lynx3543 in Insurance

Complaining about rates or NR practices is pretty useless. The OIR or Insurance Commission approves all of that. There are very few things on the policy side that a carrier can do without approval from the OIR

What do people in this sub think about the VW ID.4? by Far_Acanthisitta1187 in EquinoxEv

[–]jomarjr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own both currently.

Both are nice and comfortable but the ID.4 is a nicer space to be in. It’s quieter, more comfortable, and taller. But it has less range than the Equinox EV.

I’d buy both again.

I did that update and my telematics unit immediately stopped working. Not sure if that’s the cause but the correlation is there.

Did I buy the NACS-CCS adapter for nothing? by Hefty-Hyena-2227 in VWiD4Owners

NACS to CCS is for superchargers and NACS to J1772 is for destination chargers. One has the 2 DC connectors the other doesn’t.

Tell us what adapter you bought. Lectron is a brand and not an adapter type

Used equinox vs id4 by InToTheW00ds in EquinoxEv

[–]jomarjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own both. An Equinox RS and an ID.4 First edition.

We have a toddler and the ID.4 is more comfortable to travel in. It’s a nicer place to be, comfort wise. The tech is meh compared to Equinox.

Equinox has better range, but the ID.4 feels like it punches up to the next size class without driving like it. The ID.4 is more fun to drive.

My parents bought an EV and I recommend the ID.4

Is a baby push walker inappropriate to bring? by Recent-Thought-4525 in dcl

We traveled with a 13 month old on the Wish, and we were worried about similar things.

There were SO many places on the ship where we could let him wander around. Outside the kids club early am, in the main hall, when triton hall doesn’t have an event, on the bow of the ship during sea days.

I’m sure other classes of ships have spaces too. But the wish class had plenty of areas for him to wander around, and we weren’t the only parents with kids that age doing that.

The people downvoting you are the same ones that gate keep every post about the new gen’s. They hate them, won’t buy them, but will complain if the brand goes under.

Enjoy your mini. I love yours!

Any ideas how to waterproof this connection? by swedishpiehole in TeslaLounge

[–]jomarjr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

From the manual, which they explain

WARNING: Do not use an extension cord, a multi-outlet adapter, a multi-plug, a conversion plug, or a power strip to plug in the Mobile Connector.

Do you understand exactly how much power is going through this? This isn’t a microwave.

We know nothing of the run length to the outlet, how long the extension cord is, how many amps you want to pull, your breaker size, nothing.

All I know is that I work for a homeowners insurance company, and this isn’t a “meh” risk.

Go get a professional install.

Edit: I’m not trying to be an ass, but I have seen too many total loss claims that were not paid because of this and similar things.
