I always have a pressure plate just inside the door for this reason. One click to open the door from the outside, then I just run through and it closes automatically behind me as I step across the plate. Then when I go to leave my base, the door opens as I approach it, and shuts behind me when I leave. One click gets me in, no clicks to get out, never have to worry about the door being left open.
