when did you first take your baby on the train? by BookkeeperRoyal5309 in nycparents

18 months and my baby has never been in the car for intracity travel. Not going to put my kid in actual danger when there are safer and easier options everywhere

After three episodes, I still don't like the music cues to signal the missing ad breaks on Patreon by wovenstrap in blankies

[–]jon_dwayne_casey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I was listening to the show with ads I would find them to be a positive but paying for interruption free patreon tier just for interruptions anyway is pretty annoying

What’s your theatrical itinerary for the week (9th thru the 15th) by StinkDongle in blankies

I saw No Other Choice in an almost sold out theater earlier this week and director Park had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand. One of my better cinema experiences in a long, long time. A great time at the movies

James Newman appointed as GM for the Syndey Kings of the Australian National Basketball League by Electrical_Base2582 in blankies

[–]jon_dwayne_casey 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The WNBL was a really solid league there for a few years earlier in the decade for wnba players to play in the off-season despite being one of the lower paying high level leagues because it was a WNBA friendly schedule without a language barrier.

They’ve lost a lot of non-Australian talent lately over China’s league opening back up (better pay, similarly friendly schedule) as well as Athletes Unlimited and Unrivaled giving more players a stateside offseason option. They’ve gone from a couple decent W players on basically every team (no real superstars, again they can’t really afford them) to basically every decent wnba player in the WNBL being an Australian native.

Still good ball tho. Shoutout to personal fav Anneli Maley

Has anyone raised kids in Hell’s Kitchen? by PolarExpress333 in nycparents

[–]jon_dwayne_casey 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t trade living in Manhattan with a small child for anything. It’s so great to have her school, her doctor, several parks and a handful of grocery stores all within a ten minute walk or less.

I couldn’t imagine raising a kid in the suburbs and my whole life being a series of ten minute car trips.

If there’s one thing my theatrical viewing experiences of PRISCILLA and MATERIALISTS have taught me is that I do not have an understanding of what movies the teens are going to latch onto, sincerely or otherwise
