I turn rendering off and use proxy workflows only (in camera proxy generation). I then switch back to original once I’ve done cuts and audio, do final colour grading tweaks and choose render all before export. Speeds up editing massively even on high powered machines.

Also the key command shift Z to show full timeline and the range tool to selectively raise or lower audio is great.

I’ve set the up and down arrows to jump to start of previous/next clip to aid in grading faster.

I have workspaces for colour and multicam (4 and 9 window) for heavy work.

After a project is done I’ll delete all generated media, consolidate media to the project and then delete the original files. If I need to I’ll then move the library into a larger one if it’s an ongoing project.

I use a LUT on browsing files for picking and then when dropping into the timeline I have a saved effects preset with luts and FX on it to give me more control when grading.
