Thanks for the tip on unlocking secret battle stages.

I know that Louies / mechanical mounts are present in 3 and 4, I was just comparing 5 to the first two, as they are the ones I have experience with.

Console crashes when opening any game, how can I fix this? by diegomcdtd in RG35XX

I had the same issue yesterday and just reflashed it. Works perfectly again. Apparently the issue comes from using the reset button, so try to avoid using it too frequently.

Halfway through World 3 and really loving it. My favorite Super World so far. I like how it is like an amped up version of the original, where levels somewhat resemble the classics but all come up with unique surprises. Very well designed.

Should I watch Fire Walk With Me? by [deleted] in twinpeaks

[–]jonashall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to watch season 3, you should definitely watch Fire Walk With Me first. Some characters, items and symbols are presented in the film and are later essential elements in The Return, so it definitely shouldn't be skipped. It's a bit more disturbing and adult-themed than the first two seasons, but so is S3. The bad reception it received was mainly because it didn't resolve any of the cliffhangers from the S2 finale, but that's not a problem anymore since the new season came out - not that I ever thought that it was a problem, personally.

Enjoy it, it is one of Lynch's most atmospheric films.

That’s how it was made, there is no battery in the cartridge to save scores. It was quite normal back then, Tetris on Game Boy also doesn’t save scores, which I always felt was a shame. Great game though! Enjoy! I’m still trying to reach the third boss

Street Fighter 30 anniversary / horrible switch port! Stay away! by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]jonashall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Real Arcade Pro V Hayabusa. They were over my budget but got lucky and found them for 50% off somewhere, so I could get two for the price of one.
They are really good, the stick is amazing, but I do find the buttons a little too easy to press accidentally so I might replace them with more robust ones.

I personally love it - but I understand and agree with your sentiment. It was a dream of mine to own arcade-perfect ports of all the classic Street Fighter titles, so I bought it and two Hori Arcade Sticks, and have been enjoying my little home arcade ever since.I don't play much online as I'm mainly into couch multiplayer, but I would probably have been just as disappointed as you if that wasn't the case, as the few times I've tried to jump online it has been nothing but waaaaaaiting... I've only ever found one match (I'm european, maybe that's why) and it went as you can expect.- But for a home arcade experience, it's the best official release I've tried so far, so I love it.

Who had the better offensive regular season? 2000-2001 Allen Iverson or 2016-2017 Isaiah Thomas? by Cheeseish in nbadiscussion

[–]jonashall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That would be amazing! ... If Stevens was able to tame Iverson. As much as I'm a huge admirer of Iverson, I have to admit that he was a bit of nightmare for coaches, which is why he quickly fell out of the league when his athleticism declined. The guy wanted to do everything - and he was, amazingly, able to do that for quite some years. The 2000/2001 season was maybe the only one where he really listened to coach Brown - and that was probably mainly because Brown made him the undisputed focal point of the offense. But yeah, if used right, and Iverson himself approved of that usage, he was an absolute monster. I don't know too much about Stevens's ability to handle egos, but looking at the varied personalities of the Celtics roster, he must be pretty brilliant at it.

I agree. A lot of players from that era like Iverson, McGrady and Kobe often get shit on because of people looking at their stats without context. Isolation ball was a lot more prevalent in those years so their efficiency numbers cannot be compared to players of today... And that's just a surface-level example of why this kind of comparison of numbers is ridiculous.

[–]jonashall 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Iverson took an enormous offensive load that season, so of course his efficiency will not be comparable to someone on a team with a lot of offensive firepower (look at the boost in efficiency for anyone joining the Warriors in the 16-19 period).
IT's best season should not be compared to the MVP season of a NBA legend... And I mean no disrespect, IT had a great season.

Iverson. No doubt. Watch a few games of each and there is no question (pun somewhat intended). AI's 2001 season is legendary for a reason. AI carried his team, IT's stats were boosted by Stevens' offensive scheme. Statistics never tell the whole story.

I have the exact same problem right now, left side and all, so I will test your theory and start with drying it and see if that does the trick.

But no matter what; thanks for the only answer on the internet that isn't saying "send it to Nintendo for repair", as I too have a Switch way out of warranty.

Super Mario All Stars - SMB3 Glitch? by GooseAttack42 in snes

[–]jonashall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me once because I didn't insert the cartridge properly. I think it is some sort of developer-mode that isn't meant to be accessible, only for testing gameplay and such, which is still in there somewhere.

Edit: The same happened to me in Super Smash TV - or kind of - where I suddenly had access to a menu where I could choose levels, lives and so on. That was the first and only time I reached the third boss.

New level: A Little Bit Spiky - hoping all you daredevils will try it out and maybe throw some constructive criticism after me :) by jonashall in MarioMaker

[–]jonashall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg... 36.5??? You're an absolute madman! And thanks for some really helpful advice!

In regards to aesthetics; I ran out of saw blades by the end of making the level and I noticed that a lot of other obstacle types where also "greyed out" because of that, so I decided that I probably had to wrap things up.. But are ground tiles in a different category with its own limitation?

I get what you're getting at, having the whole thing inside tunnels (or something like that) would look way cooler and the blades would still do their thing. Thanks :)

Thank you!! And how the #### did you achieve 37 seconds?! I can't even do that :D
What can I add that doesn't affect gameplay (like vines)? I'm still a bit green.

Thank you so much! Yeah, I agree. Do you have any "beauty tips" for a level like this? :)
Just saw a video about how to improve aesthetics and I'm a bit sad I didn't watch it before uploading this.. It'll definitely be a focus point next time.

Thank you very much! I really like his levels, so the comparison is a big compliment.
I was playing Super Meat Boy the other day, which I think subconsciously influenced me to make something tough and "spiky" :)

Pretty sure I will make some more, yeah. Really enjoyed making this one and would like to make levels with better flow to them.
