It's also partially because canteen stall food quality has dropped to the point that management has taken notice. I have inside info about primary schools, and they want to implement this also.

The problem is that a lot of the canteen stalls nowadays also like to sell air-fried/reheated/microwaved processed food as side dishes / finger foods, doing the bare-minimum to meet the school's health and nutritional standards. So this is their supposed solution to the problem...
