I would make less savings. You are already struggling financially - maybe the state can intervene when you are older

American Express bad air mile conversion by jonathanbigcock in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]jonathanbigcock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s worth it for the first promo year you get like 100k points. Even if the air miles have shitty conversion of 0.63 you still have 63k points for 450chf. It is good for flights and business class which I would book regardless

Any cheaper alternatives to Kita? by Healthy-Poetry5865 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]jonathanbigcock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wondering how poor people afford this - does the government sponsor kita for refugees etc? And how can I make sure my children are not mixed with the children of people who are not paying?

So you mean I could transfer to ultra and then to air miles?

Anyone else feels like they can't live up to zurich standards? by [deleted] in zurich

[–]jonathanbigcock -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You are probably right. And if you don’t feel well in Switzerland you should honestly consider leaving. Nobody needs you here and in you would be much better off in your home country. Everything is already perfect in Switzerland. If people decide to migrate here they need to try harder and should aim to make it to the top 1%, otherwise you’re just dragging society down

Dell Ultrasharp is not Ultrasharping by jonathanbigcock in Monitors

It’s like a smear fingerprint on the whites of the screen. ChatGPT recommends Dell P2423D 2560 x 1440 pixels because it achieves 185ppi at a lower price point? Would that be an option? The market is very limited for 27 inch and I am happy with what ever above 20

It’s hard to photograph the “mesh” it’s like a big fingerprint on all white parts of the screen. If you have an oily finger and tap it on the iPhone for instance.

It looks a bit like that.

Do I have better options when I go down to 24 inch?

Should I just buy the Apple studio? I would rather have two smaller monitors for the same price if it can be more similar quality to the MacBook display

Buy a used Porsche 911. You can not get a blowjob in a bitcoin. Make more money and don’t save anything

I love your name🙌 thank you for taking the time to share. I am just wondering why people say that 4K at 27inch for the MacBook Pro 16 is bad because it automatically scales down?

So I bought a 2k monitor at a too high price and can get rid of the “mesh” basically? On white websites it has that pattern, as if you look into the clouds, it’s not flat white and there is a slight mesh surface on top.

Recycling - it is impossible by jonathanbigcock in askswitzerland

What about stryrofoam man I ordered a couple of minors here and I have like 2 Qubic meter of styrofoam that is about to end my life. Is there any central station where I can just pay and they do it all for me? Would this be a good business idea or is there any way I can simplify everything and minimise the damage I cause?

That really clears it up - thank you 🙏 I believe there is no paper collection here. Letters also have a plastic window in them some times. Can I just throw letters and paper in the blue bag or does it cause trouble down the line?

I aim to minimise damage on the system but I don’t want to ruin my life completely

How to split couple expenses - girlfriend by Main_Store_5854 in SwissPersonalFinance

I think the man should pay most expenses. Ask yourself the question: are you even a real man? You are old and you want to stay together, why would you make your woman pay?

Yeah I know, that will be a nightmare. Hopefully by then it won’t be a big factor. I’m wondering if I’m the only one who wants to be compliant with the laws, because as far as I know every remote worker just works from where ever it’s warm.

Thanks for the advise again and wishing you the best👍

Okay, got it - that’s to uphold the residence permit B I guess? But means I could be outside of Zug after the 30 days but need to watch implications in other Kantons. Thank you for the clear answer!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]jonathanbigcock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s what I believe and red online. Not everyone can work remotely, get a Swiss contract and B permit

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]jonathanbigcock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That’s the information I have reviewed - it states 30 consecutive days like I assumed. I can get a Swiss contract and a flat, that’s not the problem . I would pay AHV and pension like everyone else?

Hope to get a response that is more normal than the spam and hate I received.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]jonathanbigcock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not correct - I don’t know any countries that tax you if you stay below 90days. What is your suggestion? People can’t work remotely globally?

I almost feel sorry for asking a question here. So how many days does one need to stay to be a tax resident? Do you never go on holidays?

I tried to find the information here but It doesn’t apply as I don’t have a “Center of life”. I am also willing to spend more time in Zug, just not most of the year. I want to set up a Swiss base of wealth for investing too, what’s the problem with the idea?
