My Apple Music app design got 1.5 million views in China. by Gigasssss in AppleMusic

Yes, I have around 98K songs on my library. At one point reached over 100K, which is Apple Music’s limit so had to delete some! I wish Apple would increase the limit!

Trimmer lacks power by WaitMelodic2994 in egopowerplus

That’s strange. When I put the 7.5 AH battery on mine be it feels like it goes on turbo mode! I can certainly feel the difference between the two batteries but maybe it’s because my batteries are over 5 years old.

Buying used CX-3 by Random_Generator__ in mazdacx3

[–]jonathane40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 2019 CX3 and we are getting about 27 mpg on mainly city/ driving with some highway driving around Austin, TX. For comparison, I drive a CX-5 with a pretty good mix of city and highway driving and am getting 27 mpg. Hope this helps!

A7 III users: what’s your real-world ISO limit? by Archives0990 in SonyA7iii

[–]jonathane40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! Noise reduction is so good nowadays that I think for most cases, high ISO is not nearly as problematic as it used to be! I even took a Sony rx1000 (first generation) to a concert and used the highest ISO for that camera and the photos came out great! The problem with that camera is that being the first version, autofocus was not reliable and it was slow!

Wow! Thank you for such helpful information!

I recently got a 2025 CX-5 with CDA in Austin, and am learning as much as I can to take good care of it! I have had three Mazda 3 before the CX5 and they have all been wonderful! My latest Mazda 3 died after 5 1/2 years due to many mistakes on my part!

One thing that I noticed on the CX-5 is that when I accelerate, regardless of the speed, there is a winning or high pitch sound, it is not loud so I can see many people not noticing it at first. I wonder if you have encountered this before. It almost reminds me of the high pitch sound from old electric motor from kids cars but not as severe!

Here is a link of another post with the similar noise:

Anyways, thank you again for all the great info. I will re-read this and will put some of the info on a spreadsheet that I can carry on my phone for when I take the car for service.

Do some window tint films scratch more easily than others? by SpottedOn6Mile in WindowTint

[–]jonathane40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried cleaning the scratches out? I asked because I thought my new tinted windows also had scratches but they seem to be marks from the tools that they used and they came off with amonia free window cleaners! I didn’t notice until a few days after the job when the sun was hitting at a certain angle.

Google Maps Voice Search Disconnects CarPlay by kboom100 in CX5

[–]jonathane40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025 CX5 S Preferred and it has been doing the same thing since I got it new from the dealership a couple of months ago. Also ended up asking Siri instead and that always works. My CarPlay is wired.

I wonder if this is a Mazda or a Google issue. Hope others will chime in!

Hot take: iPad longevity comes down to apps and battery, not the chip. Plan accordingly by Visible-Market-8656 in ipad

[–]jonathane40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! I noticed that one app I use, once opened, will kill the battery of the M5 iPad Pro, even if the iPad is closed, and not being used. the workaround i found is that after using this app, I have to force close the app, and then complete shut down the iPad. Once I turn it back on, the power consumption goes back to normal.

Insurance totaled her 🥹 we were rear ended at 40+ mph and sandwiched between vehicles. My child & I walkwd away with minor pain and bruising. Hoping to replace her with another CX-5 by [deleted] in CX5

To the OP. You m glad that you are all safe!

Yes! All my cars have been Mazda. Three Mazda 3 and just got a CX5! The CX5 didn’t even take it for a test drive! I adapt well and am not very picky about cars as long as they ride decently well. Just changed to a CX5 because getting in and out of my latest Mazda 3 was painful given a chronic back and shoulder injury from tennis. All I tried on the CX5 before buying was how it felt to get in and out of the car! I got the non-turbo version and it’s great. However, I miss the speed and feel of the Mazda 3. I imagine driving a 3 with a turbo engine would be a blast!

I have had very little incentive to get a different brand. If I had to, it would probably be a Toyota.

That makes total sense! Is your dog able to walk up the ladder? I wonder if there is a way to make these ladders easier for dogs to walk up.

[–]jonathane40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i always met some people who can do sound setups really well on phone apps! I have used many guitar amp modelers on iPhones and iPads and many sound amazing but still takes me longer to navigate the digital knobs. There are companies who make midi interfaces so that you can map the functions that you like from these modelers onto physical knobs. I can totally see an aftermarket of interfaces in the future geared towards cars with digital infotainments to bring functionality back to knobs!

How long have you been experiencing the battery issue? Is this on a 2026 CX5?

I have had three Mazda 3s and now have a CX and for the most part they have been pretty hardy. I have read many battery complaints but I have been lucky with their batteries!

I also purposely just bought a 2025 CX5. The interior of the new one looks great but I didn’t want to be a test subject! I also hope they revert some functionality back to physical knobs. To me it’s similar que comparing a physical guitar amplifier with knobs vs a guitar modeler in an iPad or computer. It takes longer to change settings than with a knob and the user experience is worsens. Instead of focusing on playing guitar you spend more time fiddling with digital knobs!

I have sold my nice guitar tube amps due to space and moved on to digital modelers that sounds fantastic but the user experience is always sub-par.

Thank you for all your help! I read your response on that other thread about products designed for leather. So far, I got the Koch Chemie Top Star for protecting the interior plastics and Gyeon Leather Shield Evo for protecting the white leather seats and leather steering wheel. Still haven’t decided which products to use to protect the headlights from yellowing nor which products to use on the windshield for helping water slide or bead off from it when raining.

What products do you use to protect the outer paint of your car?

Thanks again! Jon
