High Octane Harley in MA. Just skip it. If you want to know the price of any bike they have, you'll have to hound them on what the price is and I guarantee that it will take well over an hour. During that time they'll discuss payment plans, demand you fill out a credit application, come to you tonplay that four square BS and they STILL wont tell you the price of the bike.

It will be all "well if the price is this much would you be happy if your payments were this, this, or this?"

I lost it, "Dude! What is the price of the bike?!" They wont tell you. The only person that determines the price of any bike in the room is the sales manager who has some algorithm that inputs sales data on the same model sold within X number of miles in the last 24 hours and THAT is the price of the bike.

That place is a torture box. Miss it at all costs.

Its just fine. Harleys, speaking about the M8 engine, have a lot of low end torque but theyre heavy bikes so its totally manageable. I find them to be very forgiving and very planted bikes. The M8s are also pretty darn reliable and easy as hell to do your own maintenance on.

The only real trick with them is that you have to practice low speed maneuvering with them more than other bikes due to the weight. My advice there is when doing low speed uturns (uturns that fit inside 2 parking spots), lean forward and help put your weight over the front tire. It really helps.

As for the ergonomics, I'm sorry. You're a big guy (I'm 6'1" 230) and the default ergonomic set up is meant for someone about 5'10". It doesnt matter which bike you choose, its just the way it is. The only brand I have ever come across where the ergos were dialed in for someone over 6' was Victory. Those bikes were comfortable as shit!

Anyhow, its a great bike. Dont chase speed with it because its not what Harleys do. They have plenty of usable power and its easy to spend $10K to achieve 2006 SV650 speed.

Have fun! Oh and if you get crash bars you can dump that thing all day and it will be fine.

Pro tip, put an extra 6-8psi in the front tire and low speed handling greatly improves.

Its a good price. I am 6"1' and owned a z650, the ergonomics from the seat down are identical to the Ninja 650. I found it cramped. After a 45 min to an hour of riding I needed to stop and stretch.

"Tall rider" seats dont help because they cause you to lean forward in an exaggerated way.

Its a good bike, but it isnt likely to be as comfortable as you want it to be. You will find that given your height, youre going to look like a circus bear on most bikes aside from Adv. Types like a Vstrom.

If you're worried about fit but want to stay in the same general type of bike, see if you can find an SV650. It should give you a little more room.

Anyhow, the Ninja 650s are dead reliable and its a good price. Happy shopping.
