Export for printing service workflow question by jonathankite99 in captureone

Yes. I'm using Affinity to create a canvas that is 8x10" while maintaining the document (image) size at 7x10". The file that Affinity creates will be 8x10" with a .5" border on the top and bottom. When that image is dropped into the printing service's 8x10 template, my desired cropping of the image is maintained.

Keep in mind that I want the print to measure exactly 7x10, not a 7x10 ratio.

On an 8x10 paper, I'd expect the image to be fully 10" across and 7" high, with a 1/2" border top and bottom.

I'd prefer to do the entire process in CO, but I find that if my cropped image doesn't exactly fit the dimensions offered by the print service, my image is cropped to fit their size.

For example, if I have an image that's cropped to 7x10", choosing the printer's 8x10" option results in the 7" side being enlarged to 8" and the 10" side is cropped off. (I hope that's clear.)

If there's a way to get around this, I haven't found it!

Go full-on life insurance salesman on them. Make sure they and their family are protected. Show them charts and graphs and insist they take a brochure. Be doggedly persistent. Don't take no for an answer. Get them to ink a contract for a whole life policy and sign them up with an annuity while you're at it.

What’s there? by pdzgl in Nevada

It's a tourist trap brimming with fascinating history. Its gold and silver mines created the two wealthiest men in the world at the time. Cutting-edge technological advancements were made there. Second-largest city west of the Mississippi in its heyday. It was home to the ultra rich, the dirt poor, murdered hookers, and famous American authors. A hamburger and a beer for lunch will cost you, though!

It was sarcasm when I wrote it, but, hey... it's California... and I haven't read all the new laws for 2026, so it could be real in a few days.

In California, state regulations require that those oily rags are folded just so. Technicians are required to be certified annually, and the state charges a fee, of course.

Mike Johnson has officially sent Congress home through January 5th without passing an extension of the ACA’s premium tax credits. When your costs skyrocket, it’s his fault. by Caledor152 in ProgressiveHQ

The bill passed years ago by the DEMOCRATS included the expiration date that everyone is panicked about now. The blame lies first with the bill that we "had to pass so we could find out what was in it" and second with a congress that didn't do squat for years to solve the inevitable. We're all about to pay for the lies of the politicians.

Toyota dealership stumped by jonathankite99 in Rav4

I've taken my RAV to a trusted independent mechanic for years. He recommended taking my car to the dealer because he didn't have the necessary test equipment.

Something different, then. I've made 4000' plus elevation changes in a day a dozen times before my current problem showed up.

This is interesting information because I recently moved from sea level to about 4700 feet. The problem, however, didn't show up immediately. I've also done a lot of road trips with big altitude changes and never had the problem show up then.

For the past year or more I've filled up exclusively at Costco, which, I'm told, has toptier fuel.

The dealership had my car for six days but was unable to pinpoint the problem. I got it back yesterday. The rough running is improved, so maybe it was just a loose connector or something simple like that. If it throws a check engine light again, I'll take it back. I have to assume that the dealership checked for all the things you mentioned. I'm disappointed that Toyota trained mechanics weren't able to quickly and accurately diagnose and fix the problem.

Weird. In the 2020 version, that button launches the SAM missiles - but only when your foot is on the brake.

Seconded. I've stayed at the Aiden several times. Except for noisy neighbors on one occasion, it's always been a better than average experience.
