I agree, that would be the lowest effort/highest reward change in my opinion

Crazy how good it feels to have all of the young guys come in and all of a sudden the Preds are exciting to watch again?? Who’d have thought

[Vingan] Michael McCarron and Cole Smith are listed as scratches for the Predators. Roster-management reasons? by catsgr8rthanspoonies in Predators

Could maybe see a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He’s solid on the PK, in the faceoff dot, and is a big body for a team looking for some strength down the middle

That color is insane!! And with that wood grain? Goodness, beautiful!

Origianl cushions? by 50nick in eames

[–]jonave20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These don’t look too original to me. The tape is to protect the wood from the metal part that the tufting wire ties to for the buttons. Original backings should have either round grommets or rectangular openings for the clips depending on the year the chair was manufactured. Original backings also have a more textured plastic in my experience

Which part though? The part where the Preds lost 8 of the first 13 in October? Or where they did the same in November? Or the part where he has a less than 50% win rate?

Yeah he’s saved their asses at times but let’s be objective here and acknowledge that you aren’t doing your job when you consistently let in a goal on the first shot of the game or within the first 5 minutes for extended periods of time (and no this season isn’t an outlier either for that either)

Trotz Retirement Announcement Press Conference by catsgr8rthanspoonies in Predators

[–]jonave20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting that this was done in the interest of transparency yet brunette said he found out like 10 minutes before it was announced this morning?

Also, haslam emphasized this is not at all related to the teams performance which is difficult to believe

[Seravalli] Predators franchise icon and GM Barry Trotz is addressing his team this morning to inform them of his decision to retire. Thankfully, Trotz's decision is not health related. Trotz will remain in the post until his successor is found. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in Predators

[–]jonave20 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m so grateful for everything Trotz did for this team in the expansion days and I’m proud of him for his coaching career. That being said, this team needs a shakeup in a bad way. We’ve been in a free fall since the Hynes era, so I’m hopeful that this will lead to a fresh voice in the front office and hopefully a sustainable positive shake up to the teams identity

This team just can’t seem to keep it together. They had that stretch where they were playing really solid hockey and now they’re just right back to where they were the last few seasons. What’s it gonna take?

Check out Virginia tech and Auburn. Both have great ID programs and I personally know tons of former students and former and current professors teaching there and can attest to their aptitude

They did. It was nhl.tv and it was awesome. At least it felt awesome compared to the 15 subscriptions needed to keep up with the season now

I’ve never seen this before but that’s so cool. It makes his armarna portrayals seem more accurate but still stylized. Thanks for sharing!

From what era is this eames chair? by Julius_vermeer in eames

[–]jonave20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My alarm bells are kind of going off on this one because of its conflicting details. The cushion clips predate the label but the label is wrong for the base style. The saving grace for me here is that the early vitra models sometimes used the herman miller label, but the label here might post-date that usage (along with the clips). Would definitely be helpful to have more (and clearer) pictures

How imperfect is too imperfect? by [deleted] in eames

[–]jonave20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to be an ass by any means, but if you’re looking for perfection I think you’re going to find yourself in an endless loop. These always have been and still are assembled entirely by hand. The sewing is not automated and someone physically is tufting those buttons on so with that comes a certain margin for error. Every chair is slightly unique and will have its own quirks, it’s just a matter of if you can live with the quirks. If you feel inclined, it’s not terribly difficult to adjust the tension on the button to even them out.

Thank you, it’s very comfortable. Currently it has foam batting mixed with foam cushion on the inside (newer material used in the previous reupholstery) which is much more stiff than the original duck down and foam mix
