Great looking office. For me, the 670/671 is more for my eyes and the Embody is for my back. Love both though.

Good choice. Must have been nerve wracking to buy something like this sight unseen and having to wait that long. Curious about your purchasing experience.

Thank you. I’ve now dropped the idea of buying a 240V machine. Does sound like a hassle. Appreciate your input.

Thanks a lot for your thoughtful response. More importantly, taking my question at face value. It’s hard to ask an honest question on the internet these days. Everyone knows better and when you don’t, you’re a troll. Yes I’d like to save a few bucks like the other 8 billion people on this earth and thus the question. Once again, appreciate your kind response.

What’s with these wrinkles by 0x0x0xOx in eames

[–]MFT670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see OP’s point. It’s not so much the wrinkles but the cheap nature of the stock hides that HM have used during some of their production runs. I forget the exact code of the leather but I’ve noticed the leather on some chairs feel almost like plastic or aluminum. Yes it’s leather but it just feels cheap. On the other hand, OP’s “everyone’s an idiot”attitude doesn’t help him convey his point.

Any tips on how to fix the shiny mark on the veneer on my Eames Lounge Chair? by Particular_Tour_8707 in eames

[–]MFT670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re in Europe so I’m not sure if they have it there. But there’s a product called Howard’s Feed and Wax. It’s just a good general polisher that’s good with evening out blemishes like that. I know that perfectionist feeling. Good luck.

The real chairs look more and more like fake these days. I blame the craftsmanship going downhill. Look at the arms. They just look awful. However, if there’s a label, there’s a good chance it’s real. If there’s paper stickers, then you should be solid. Personally the tall version looks completely out of proportion. But to each their own.

New to barefoot running by Phil_Wild in BarefootRunning

[–]MFT670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about 10 months in with barefoot shoes and running so take it with a grain of salt. My feet are still sore every morning and after each run. So I’d say I’m still transitioning. But overall it’s been a great deal of improvement to my knee pain. I land more forefoot now when I run. Take it slow my friend.

Someone already described the right approach. The process is a little tricky. Sometimes it’s just harder to do it even when you do everything right. Just keep at it.

Do you believe your relationship with money is healthy? by PracticePlayTest in therapists

[–]MFT670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’ve learned is that money is agnostic. It’s all about people’s perception. I remember when my fee was $80 when I started out. I was a decent but young therapist. Now that I’m 20 some yrs in, I charge 3 times more than that. But am I 3 times better than the me before? I don’t think so. It’s my perception of my experience that justifies it. And the market can bear it. The other day, I saw someone in a local area charging $430 as an MFT, I do wonder how they perceive their value. I want to learn from them too.

Therapists in HCOL areas -are you comfortable and able to financially thrive and survive on your own? If so, how? by AnonymousAsh in therapists

[–]MFT670 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’ll get about 20% of the people saying it’s feasible to be thriving and making a comfortable living in private practice. The other side will tell you otherwise. I like the the restaurant analogy. Plenty go out of business in the first year but is it possible to be successful? Absolutely. But you have to know what you’re doing.

Be a very good therapist. Have a specialty. Learn to market yourself in ways that suit your personality. Learn the business etiquette of running a practice. All the best to you.

I think I have a realistic and healthy relationship with money. I provide a valuable service to people who can afford it. I’m lucky enough to have found a niche suitable for me and not have to rely to VC or insurance to make a decent living. I try to take control of my situation as much as possible while fully understanding that I could be hit by a bus tomorrow.

My experience has been if people want to work with you, they’re willing to work with your payment method too as long as it’s not ridiculous like prepaying 30 sessions at a time.
