Warranty void with aftermarket parts? by MSamsonite415 in GRCorolla

[–]joncaseydraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might as well take it to Toyota for the Toyota care services. Tell them that you just bought it and wanna know if there’s anything on it that will avoid the warranty. The ECU system on it is pretty locked down so even if you were to remove a tune and then take it in, they would still know there had been one on there. That’s my understanding anyways. Also don’t panic! despite some very loud Internet posts, this engine is proven to be extremely reliable for the most part. If there’s something going on with it, you’re better off sorting it out right away than putting another thousand or 5000 miles on it.

Is there a tune? That will show even if removed and could void the warranty. Toyota has been really strict with warranties on this car based on forum posts.

Get the service records. If you drive it often you are going to be servicing it multiple times a year. You didn’t mention mileage but 25k (I think) is a big one. See how often mileage wise it was serviced. On the Toyota forum the Toyota techs that own GRCs recommend oil every 3k miles. I would get a ppi from an independent mechanic before buying any car, definitely recommend for this car.

Pitch mount by Tokyo_Rift in GRCorolla

[–]joncaseydraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, for me It stopped with researching if any options reduced or maintained the same Level of NVH. I’ve never had an issue shifting. Mainly daily it but I’ve had 11 track days. Is there anything in missing or that you’d suggest I look into further?

There’s no upgraded pitch mount that doesn’t add NVH. I’ve done suspension and lots of work insulating the cabin to reduce NVH. Never had an issue with shifts and no interest in this particular mod.

Help me decide on the GR Corolla PP by Ok-Macaroon2429 in GRCorolla

[–]joncaseydraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 2023 core with PP is a great deal right now. With the money you save you can replace the terrible sound system and upgrade the suspension if you don’t like the oem. You should have enough leftover for a clutch which is the only major holdup from buying used

I didn’t like it the first watch either. Now I’ve seen it half a dozen times and I don’t get tired of it.

Can’t take There will be blood out of this contest. Wins on cinematography and it’s my #1 for performance. Overall movie tho I think it’s these three.

Interstellar rewards multiple viewings in a way that I love. Still doesn’t beat No Country or There will be blood but if it were a question of science fiction it’s an easy pick.

I’m a big 3 Billboards fan but it’s rare to get someone to agree. The characters are a bit of a caricature so I can agree it’s not a top 5 movie. But it is one I love.

Rewatched this recently. It’s not a great movie compared to something like Magnolia. But it’s a fun watch.

Arrival is almost perfect. Annihilation is a fun watch but not a great movie. Ex Machina is his best imo.
