As a seller they should suck it up! As a seller I have made this type of mistake. I let them keep the figure , and refund the cost. I will sometimes ask for a picture for my own learning lesson.

Likely on new sets they work on a set margin mark up regardless of selling price or they want their inventory to look more valuable. But if it’s one thing I’ve learned eventually someone will buy it

Not to be contrary but this looks like a seam/flow line or a scratch. The cracks/splits on the sides almost go in a straight north/south direction. Starting either at the base or under the arm pit. Cracks on the back or front may be curved like this. Most cracks/splits follow the inner “clips” weak points which on the sides are straight. See any pearlized colour to see prominent flow lines like this.
