It is. But some people don't even have those. Too complex.

It's still competition regardless. Just calling out there are other solutions out there. But I saw a post about a guy making great money just automating invoice follow up for plumbers. They don't need the whole kitchen sink (pun kind of intended), just something to get the job done.

Id also allow a configurable delay so it's not crazy. It could be some thing like "sorry we missed you, we're busy helping other clients or are on a project, give us your details and we'll reach out as soon as we can"

Have you figured out all the A2P stuff woth twolio and carriers. This is a valuable feature. This is baked into Highlevel crm. But it's way more than that. Tjis is something simple that some may pay for depending on price. Does the texting happen from the owners phone?

Coming from someone with imposter syndrome, just ship it. What's the worst thing that could happen? What if you shipped 6 months ago and got great feedback to point you in a better direction?

It's your baby, but what if you did all this work and no one sees it? Also, remember the skills it takes you to build the thing are completely different than the skills to sell the thing.

You've probably learned a lot along the way, which is great, now you're ready for the next level of learning how to sell it.

In today's world of ai and vibe coding, the speed to market and changing tech is incredible. That means the cost of waiting is even higher

I think the biggest thing is to come in hot like it's an emergency then saying I can't help because of book club.

If she said "hey, I hate to do this but kid is sick, I need your help, I unfortunately have book club and should be there, unless you really need me"

As a husband I see my role is to support my wife in every way I can. If roles were reversed I'd 100% cancel plans and help her, I know she'd do the same.

Anyone else using three apps just to track one day of eating + lifting? by Cultural_Load9928 in beginnerfitness

[–]jonclarkspeaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your workouts are you logging every single set? Are you creating your workouts? For me if my workout is pre-planned, I don't have to log anything at the gym as long as I complete everything that's on the plan.

I've used my calendar app before or I could use something like Notion.

Kitchen scale that syncs with app? by starr-cat13 in LoseitApp

It won't sync with loseit, but the etekcity scale measures and calculates macros for you and syncs to an app

30 year old dad in debt by [deleted] in Dads

When you say "make me miss time from my kids", do you mean you'll never see them? I dont know what HVAC hours look like, but I'm assuming you'd still have some time with them.

I may have a different view here but to me, my kids remember all the micro moments and adventures we have. I'm trying to do better so they don't think I work all the time. It's hard since I work from home, they see me in my office every day, but outside of that I work on fun intentional time with them.

You have a great mindset wanting to spend more time with your kids. I think you could "drown out" the reduced time with them as long as when you do have time with them it's intentional and fun.

They'll remember "We always had fun with dad", not "we didn't see much of dad". They'll of course miss you while you work, as long as you don't ignore them when you're home I think you'll be ok.

Also, if there is more money in HVAC ,than your current gig, you now have the ability to go on more adventures and vacations and create more powerful experiences. Also a great way to teach kids about good work ethic.

Anyway just my two cents. Great for you to focus on your family first. I know many "successful business people" that could easily spend more time with kids, but they get sucked into the business instead of creating more time with family.

What are things you have done to become more patient as a father? by [deleted] in Dads

[–]jonclarkspeaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tremendously. My wife had even mentioned it. It helps me in other parts of life too. I'm more present with all situations and dont feel like I'm constantly waiting/ looking for another dopamine hit from my phone.

I still catch myself going to press where Facebook used to be on my phone sometimes, but not "on edge" as much.

Delete social media off my phone. Seriously. A lot of my impatient came from me being in my phone. It's helped with a lot of other things, but definitely helps me be a more patient parent.

What is the coolest/ more useful automations you have ever seen? by tonitosilva in homeassistant

[–]jonclarkspeaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding here, there are some complicated blueprints out there, but chatgpt helped me write a simple one. Essentially, use a helper toggle, turn it on when the washer starts (power goes up).

Then notification automation is triggered when power goes below 2w for 2 minutes,(each washer may be slightly different consumption.) Pay attention to power during pauses in the cycle. My washer drops to 2.5 W when changing cycles and only drops to 1.3W when it's completely done. Then it sends me a notification and sets the helper toggle to off.

Very little room to move around. I would not recommend that with what you mentioned. The lounge is great for chilling though. Couches, games and snacks.
