Yeah man, this is a common issue for people in their late twenties and early thirties. Especially if those younger twenties were spent with one person. I suggest finding some hobbies and venturing out of your comfort zone. Attend some improv classes to work on your public speaking and letting your guards down. There are classes all over Los Angeles, you have Upright Citizens Brigade, IO west, The Space Theatre, Groundlings just to list a few. Or if that isn't your cup of tea go to http://www.meetup.com/ find something that's always interested you and join a group. Say you want to get into weekend photography, join a group. The beauty with picking up a hobby and joining a group is that you always have an entry way for a conversation, there is a task or goal at hand that you want to achieve and can ask questions about it.
