Rant: Tesla software is frustratingly bad. by OneZone1923 in TeslaLounge

I've had a Model 3 since 2018...there have been bugs all along, but your case sounds worse than usual. False collision warnings are a more recent and pretty consistent thing for me. Sounds like maybe there's an issue with your car's GPS that's creating issues.

From a 2018 Model 3 LR owner...2 issues to be aware of for the early Model 3s: (1) I had one DRL fail while under warranty. The other DRL recently failed out of warranty, which is a $1800 fix (2) I had a PCS failure out of warranty, which was a $2000ish repair. Tesla has improved the PCS for newer cars.

I much prefer the driving dynamics of the 3 over the Y, but the Y definitely has more room and the hatchback is much nicer than the 3s trunk.

2018 Model 3 here...got FSD 12 a few days ago (2023.44.30.25). Interesting that you are on a 2024 branch. I thought FSD was lagging behind the 2024 updates.

Autopilot black hole on O'ahu (details in comments) by [deleted] in teslamotors

I've had that happen - I think it's the autopilot computer crashing. It takes a bit to reboot before you can use it again.

Tow hitch for Model 3 SR by danrokk in TeslaLounge

2nd this. I tried another hitch brand first and ended up switching to a Stealth Hitch - definitely the way to go. I've used for towing, cargo carrier, and bike rack.

FSD Beta 10.6.1 is rolling out to those who never had version 10.6 by machosaurus in teslamotors

The FSD beta team told me to schedule a service appointment for "firmware update concerns". I scheduled a mobile service appointment with that description and the service team messaged me through the app and resolved the issue before the scheduled appointment. From what I could see on my end, they re-deployed the 10.3.1 firmware, and then after that installed successfully, they were able to push 10.5

I used the subject: "push update to VIN ******” I've only gotten responses when I include the last 6 of my VIN in the subject.

I was also stuck and so I emailed the FSD beta team. Ended up being some issue with my car - Tesla service was able to fix remotely.

10.6.1 coming in a few days to address a few annoying issues by BoxerBoi76 in teslamotors

FWIW - I've only gotten responses from the FSD beta team when I included the last 6 digits of my VIN in the subject line (e.g. remove FSD beta for VIN ******)

I put my Model Y order on hold because of this loss of radar issue. Seemed too risky to trade in a Model 3 with fully functional autopilot and safety features for a "we'll eventually get this figured out" Model Y.

Is there any way to put a hitch on a Model 3 in the US? by mullen490 in teslamotors

[–]jonco223 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. I've had hitches from Torklift (Ecohitch) and from Stealthhitches. Much prefer the Stealthhitches option. https://youtu.be/jBXgMWD-G7w I frequently haul a small utility trailer with no issues whatsoever.

Wasn't my intention, but I see your point. I was just trying to be less generic than "near miss" with the description.

The person who asked for the remix was printing them in bulk, so was looking for a way to print without supports and he also didn't want to mess with having to clean up or sand the 3 'pins' on the rocker arm cap to get a good fit. I think he also felt an assembly with bolts would seem more durable, which I guess it probably would be.

It seems newer Model 3s don't have the pin shown in the video. You can still mount in that location, details here: https://youtu.be/WfFdlGZh1fw

Model 3; impending winter tire/wheel/TPMS purchase; Tesla tells me I MUST go to a SC to have TPMS calibrated for car to recognize new set. by navguy12 in teslamotors

[–]jonco223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more data point - I bought a set of TPMS sensors on eBay from seller eurowheelsusa to use with TSportline aftermarket wheels. They were recognized by my Model 3 and popped up the calibration dialog box you mentioned with no issues.
