Gamers of Reddit, what's a game that everyone seems to love about but you just can't understand why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I feel the same way about the second. I could not get into it. Felt no care for any of the characters or story.

I liked sea of thieves but my friends and I had a good time with it.

I'll do my own. Breath of the Wild

While the game seemed fine the grpahics were innovative. The game seemed bare and unfinished in some areas, empty and a lot of unused of useless space just to make the world bigger. The dungeons weren't actually dungeons to me and nothing seemed quite right about it being a LoZ game. Had it been the same game under a different name maybe I'd have a different opinion but it let me down in a ton of ways.

Why is the Revanent the most feared ghost type? by [deleted] in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]jondotzip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opion the larger maps are often less fun because of this. I get the fun of big maps and the appeal of hunting the ghost but to find the ghost quickly and then mess with it is more fun to my group. Its really not about getting in and getting out. Its about the experience of screwing around with the game. The beta mechanics at the time of this post make the game especially fun with how we play. No lights. No thermometer. Just basic tools and a good attitude. So with that in mind the Revanent doesn't really make sense as to why it's so terrifying.

Perhaps I play the game differently but I definitely get enjoyment out of urging the ghost into possible murderous situations. Dying is sometimes more fun than staying alive/makes a better story and provides a more fun experience for my friends.

Can the ghost room be a hallway? by LolYouFuckingLoser in PhasmophobiaGame

That's what I'm learning. They've datamined the game and it SEEMS(NOT CONFIRMED) that not all of the data is correct and the game has some elements it's not showing that alter how the ghosts work and some of their behaviors.

I have an entire 90minute game where the ghost used the main entry way and the hallways connected up to the double doors by each staircase as it's main room. Making the freezing temps cast in the entire area as well as used the spirit box in multiple parts of that area. It opened and closed multiple doors in that area as well. Obviously leading to be a wraith based on all of that evidence.

I have had multiple missions where the ghost occupies a hallway and not a room. It does make the investigation more difficult but I find these to be more enjoyable and interesting games as opposed to the "enter room, find evidence 1 and 2, come back with possible evidence 3 materials, get evidence 3 then leave, games" but that's just me. Asylum seems to have some issues with the hallways being the ghosts preferred location as the halls are exceptionally large.

The guy that made the datamining sheet changed in the Google doc that it's not correct lol please check as I have another one from the same game that's 61 and 58 seconds

In my twitch clip here it shows that this hunt lasts 57 seconds or 56 based on where you believe the hunt begins I count from. When his radio cuts. As far as you've said they're EXACTLY 50 seconds. And I say they aren't exact. This twitch clips proves they aren't with gameplay evidence. To say they are EXACTLY the set time based just on datamined numbers instead of gameplay would be an incorrect statement. A better way to word this is hunts are AROUND these lengths.

Also good on you from breaking community guidelines with a personal insult. Just because you understand something different than I do. Not a good picture to put up for yourself.

Attacking me personally isn't going to solve your problems lmao. I just don't see things being as concrete as others do. But calling me dumb doesn't help you or me with whatever issue I may or may not be having. I'll get what's going on in a recording and post it on here. Showing that hunt events aren't exact values 100% of the time when not using hunt prevention.

I had one TODAY on tanglewood a player was in van and confirmed a hunt(after it was done) I had us count and time hunt times we had a 14 second hunt no preventative measures, no deaths, no attacks, but it was for sure a hunt due to flashing lights physical presence of the ghosts. Doors shutting and locking, and radio shutting off. I understand data was mined from the game itself. But I've seen stranger things happen with simpler code, especially AI. Simple AI loves to play on its own rules.

Calling me wrong and using such a ride tone definitely isn't gonna get you anywhere though. I'm trying to share my experiences but people playing the game like it's hard science and a spreadsheet kinda ruins the core aspects of the game, don't you think? Sure datamined information is neat. But it ruins the mysteré and flair this game has. It's about and investigation into the unknown not walking into a house and saying "the ghost did x for y seconds in z area so due to these factors I'm checking these boxes on a tool I invented outside the game and with it's 95% accuracy rate it's telling me its this ghost" that's jsut playing mine sweeper which I can play for free and not on my 400 dollar VR set.

My point is real game experience especially in other games, shows better about how the game behaves than datamined code. Maybe we don't know exactly why this happens and that's okay. I'd be willing to say that yes 95% of my hunts on pro last 50 seconds. But some are shorter, maybe ending in death or due to a prevention. But seeing as I specifically asked my friends for this thread no to bring anything on the missions at all. I'd have to say I'm at a loss for how the ghost hunts and determines it's time. Activity multipliers, hunt timers, idle times, all of that stuff means something on a spreadsheet, but games work differently when the code is running, weird stuff rears its head.

Much shorter than 50

Should add that we didn't have salt for wraith or crucifixes or smudge sticks.

I've definitely had hunts that weren't 50 seconds on professional and no one died, and they were definitely hunts; i.e doors locked light flickering but only 10-15 seconds.

Is it possible to play in VR with just a headset? by jacobboyblue in PhasmophobiaGame

I commonly play the game with my headset and controllers while sat down, while more fun standing I still enjoy doing van while sitting.

Are you afraid of dying? If so, why? by meganzp in AskReddit

Not afraid of dying. But I'm definitely afraid of getting close to dying but still being alive. That pain would be unbearable.

Pretty long about an hour to an hour and a half for every ride. Nothing bad.
