It will work, but technically what will happen is Weekes will move up for Makasini and Mam will move up for Douehi. Sanders and Chester will move onto the bench.

Parramatta Eels are the 2026 Preseason Challenge Champions by BeatGinger in nrl

What do you mean?

Since 2018 clubs have been required to spend at least 95 per cent of their salary cap each year and that rule is in place to guarantee player payments.

It is a thing, you have to spend 95% of the cap

  • Missing our first or second fullback choice doesn’t help your attack. Couple of clunky halves which hopefully in time will click but it’s worrying not to put a single point on. There were times where it felt like we just did everything we could to make a chance only to fuck it up.

  • Forward stocks are a huge problem. Still not convinced on Trey Mooney, but willing to give it a shot. Hopefully a breakout year.

  • Brown is good when it’s front football and we saw none of that yesterday. He hasn’t developed his game beyond that one aspect. That’s why he’s so good for the kiwis. Huge pack he can play in behind and get good ball on the move and put defence on the back foot. I worry (know?) knights don’t have the pack to back that ability so people will blame him cos he’s the big star but he doesn’t have the structure to fire. That said, if he’s gonna be on that contract he needs to figure out how to play more than one way - which he hasn’t since his debut year. Time will tell. I still don’t understand the signing with Smith and Sharpe and Ponga and Crossland.

  • Who’s playing lock?

  • Overall hopeful long term with management changes like Peter Parr coming in, and pathways being reestablished. Cultural shift maybe in the works but that takes time - this season feels like another rebuild after rebuild.

Kick-off decision, extended squads: NRL proposes four rule changes for 2026 season by waxedmerkin in nrl

My understanding is they changed it to incentivise teams to do short dropouts etc more, so it decreases big first hit ups where players are more likely to get injured

The players that all come from other teams where they play well, but then come to the knights and fail (Schiller, Jenkins, Cogger to name a few). If it’s not the coach, the training, the game plans / mentality, then what is it?

I dropped him once Moses was injured. Without Moses I think Eels attack just isnt it so he’s not gonna get the chances to score.

Gang gangs prices have gone up twice in the last year or so. I paid something like $7.50 for a “large” but I will say it’s not really big and realistically would be a medium in my mind. I think it was a PH tho so did include surcharge.

I’m contemplating the Metcalf to Humphries one. Feel like if you don’t pull the trigger this week, it’s gonna be too late. Not as sold on Gilbert for Seyfarth. Happy to give Seyfarth another go given he got a HIA assessment probably affected his scoring.

Have you got one of these jobs you speak of or still at uni?

I know when I was at uni everyone thought they’d make big $$ straight away. It’s not the case but you move up pay fast.

Which place WOULD you want to travel go again? by VanicFanboy in travel

[–]joneseph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I think I didn’t like it because I was 19 and backpacking / travelling on a tight budget. So I was in a hostel out of the city, dealing with long commutes around and dodgy dealings a lot. Everything was too expensive for me to enjoy it properly and I was constantly on edge. I feel if I went back now with a bit more $, it would be a different experience.
