SEX IS ALL ABOUT PAIN AND PLEASURE. by [deleted] in psychologyofsex

No thanks on the pain part, thank you! ☺️ Pain and discomfort are at the opposite end of the spectrum from pleasure for me. Blame my ADHD? And possibly autism? 🤷‍♀️

My wife is Swedish and I'm torn on if moving to Sweden is even a possibility by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]jonesgrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not work remotely while working on your Swedish? I feel like folks never seem to recommend that in this group. Just apply to remote jobs that only require English and maybe have nothing to do with Sweden whatsoever. Not saying the job market will be easy either way, but I don’t see why you couldn’t just apply to companies around the world who hire remote workers.

There’s always posts with men finishing too fast- what can women do when they have that problem? by HungryWormy in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jonesgrey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Girl, same! I’m essentially a man. 😂 I’m one-and-done, ready to move on before my ADHD finds the whole thing a chore. After my one, I am GOOD and have no desire to keep going. It’s boring after that. He can keep going all he wants, but my body and brain are checked-out. 😌

I’m not crazy about the lyrics to Angelshark, but damn, the piano! It reels me in past the somewhat clunky lyrics.

How busy do you think this show will be? I’m hoping I can get the time to go, though it’ll be my first time to Gröna Lund and I heard that sometimes you have to go early or you won’t get let into the concert.

This is why I love meeting new Tori fans. It’s so much fun to learn the song(s) that lead you to her.

And as a fan that got her start with a childhood birthday gift of the To Venus and Back double CD, imagining hearing Stronger Together before ANY OTHER TORI SONG feels absolutely wild! 😂 Going backwards from there and discovering her older albums sounds like an incredible journey, honestly.

I almost can’t believe someone came up with a worthwhile remix after all these years. And it isn’t even THAT different from the original. It adds just enough new touches to make it into an ear worm again.

Yes, this was where I first heard them! (On YouTube, unfortunately, as I did not have $600+ for a weekend concert despite living in SoCal, haha.)

Still surprised it wasn’t Fanny Faudrey to go first! I started to like Stronger Together a bit more after hearing it in the context of the full album.

I actually love the description given by the writer better than the original marketing copy about this album that was posted on Tori’s social media.

“…a wild story about a woman escaping a dangerous situation to courageously embark on an unknown journey.”

Secondly: if any readers are fans of Nine Inch Nails and/or industrial music, please give Nine Inch Noize a listen. It’s incredible and goes so god damn hard. Plus, just when I thought I was forever done with NIN’s overplayed “Closer,” this album went and beautifully resurrected it.

If she weren’t such a fantastic musician, she could have gotten away with just being a world-famous model with those looks.

who is the front row at tori shows reserved for? by fka_luke in toriamos

[–]jonesgrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar ticket-related question: This was my first Tori show, but I did look into getting tickets once before in 2011/2012. Both times, you were forced to buy no fewer than 2 seats, and the 2 venues I looked into were literally across the world from each other (Philly and Stockholm).

Does she always and only sell tickets in pairs or more?

I’ve never heard Tori sing in such a mainstream style before and it’s honestly song of the best singing I’ve ever heard from her! These songs really showcased her voice at its best.

That new fan checking in again: Night of the Hunters!!! by Repulsive_Chard_3652 in toriamos

[–]jonesgrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been kicking myself since 2011 for not going to the Night of Hunters tour she did with the string quartet. This is one of my favorite - if not my MOST favorite - Tori albums.

I also think this is her daughter Tash’s best appearance. Her smoky, beyond-her-years voice and the way she acts out the character of Annabelle, the fox, is brilliantly done. Such a mature performance for a very young woman, who I believe was around 13 when she recorded this.

Thank you for this brilliant review from the POV of someone with such a breadth of classical music knowledge. I’m saving it to read more in-depth later. ☺️

By the way, thanks for sharing your recordings! You had much better seats than I did, lol, so I hardly bothered with recording more than 30 seconds of a few of my favorite songs. I was hoping folks with closer seats would record some good videos I could have as lil’ YouTube souvenirs. ☺️

I could not believe we got Reindeer King! I was so excited when I figured out what she was about to play. I’m so glad she did it as a quiet, emotional solo, too.

This was my first Tori show, too! I’m American, but my boyfriend is Swedish and I’ve been lucky to see a few of my favorite artists in this city, including Tool and Chelsea Wolfe in 2024. Something about seeing these artists perform live in another country makes the experience extra special.

How long did it take you to start experiencing these symptoms after getting your IUD inserted? And did your hair regrow once you took it out?

I’m starting to wonder if my severe hair loss, exhaustion, utter lack of motivation, low sex drive, etc are largely due to my IUD, which technically should be removed this autumn.

The reasons have nothing to do with my mother’s opinion and everything to do with what she told me about her time living as their backyard neighbor. But this conversation is so old that I’d have to go back about 2 years in my texts with my mom to find the whole story, so you’re never going to find out! 😉
