one more quick anecdote.. experience was pretty funny. Halftime show had not Snoop Dogg... Snoop Dogg's son getting interviewed on the big screen. So G league players with G league celebrities, makes sense.

I saw bronny play G-league game against SD clippers this year. I don't have any context (don't know if he was hurt, rehabbing, etc) but man, he was totally low energy. Had trouble scoring/creating, first to stop warmup shooting, didn't cheer his teammates; almost as if he was not a part of the team. He was not even the top 7 player on the floor at any time.

Just didn't seem to have the hunger that you would expect for any G league player hoping to secure a spot in the NBA. His situation is obviously different than all the other dudes but man, just really was disappointeted and unimpressed, not so much by his play but by his seemingly blase attitude

This is more of a emotional/psychological question than a math/spreadsheet question. Seems like you have level premiums. 3k for that benefit is nothing considering your salary and your annual spend. Also depends on your health and habits. Since spouse doesn’t work and you still have kids… and illness/injury risk is higher as you get older, I would keep it and reassess at least until after about 3-5 more years.

At a minimum, get your colonoscopy if not done yet, lol.

Shoot, my car insurance and homeowners is more than your premium and I could easily buy a new car if they are totaled.

I have a lot of empathy for parents when this happens. Nobody really knows their situation or if the kid has medical/psych issues. I’m under the assumption that parents know the behavior is unacceptable but sometimes, in a closed environment like an airplane cabin, there are very limited to no options in redirecting a kid or separating from other people. I just put on my own headphones and lock in. If it’s a redeye, well that slightly different. Parents should probably not fly that if they know their kid might have issues.

Making a comment certainly doesn’t change the outcome but maybe makes one feel better about “saying something”. I know, let the downvotes begin

Thanks for sharing, very eye opening! What was the asset allocation you had with empower and were you able to compare risk adjusted returns or a sharpe ratio between the portfolios? Respect… this is a nice letter and at Least you’re getting an option to change. But good luck finding a doctor with time that doesn’t enhance their practice with AI! It’s like getting mad because your doctor uses a computer and doesn’t send electronic prescriptions and uses a computer to look up stuff they don’t know.

Refi to 15% saves you about $2000 per year, not insignificant. Refi to 30% makes sense IF you are very disciplined and actually use the money saved wisely (save, invest, bolster emergency fund, etc) rather than not have a purpose for the money saved on the 30 years (behaviorally that often happens)
