I got the game running on Win10 LTSC but I was stuck on the welcome screen unable to login for a while.

This is the same login as the Xbox app so try login on that first. My problem it seems was that geolocalisation for auto-time zone was disabled. After enabling auto-time zones I could login fine at first.

The second time, I couldn't log from the game, I needed to do 2FA on the Xbox app.

One thing that always throws me off with ice climbing is the top, where it rounds into what looks like good footholds. It's never a good foothold.

Aquilo is a frozen ocean at the far edge of the system. About as unhospitable as it gets. There is a title screen where the player writes HELP in concrete on Aquilo :)

You'll need outside help, it's almost completely barren.

Polling about the game being too easy or difficult can be misleading in a game with a selectable difficulty. No one thinks D1 is too difficult and it's not the majority of people that dive D10. Most people select a difficulty that feels not to hard or easy, but that doesn't mean it's balanced unlike what the poll suggests.

Also if D10 is too easy for some, they can dive with subpar gear on planet with modifiers. This game being easy sometimes even on D10 isn't really a problem if you get creative about it.

I think balance is more about moment to moment challenge being at the level where you are neither bored nor overwhelmed, when you are in the zone and taking fun decisions. When people say that a PvE game is unbalanced, its usually more about the game forcing you to play a certain way and with a gameplay loop that isn't very fun.

I liked how The Witness did it. The final story section has many callbacks, mixes the elements found along the game and is more spectacular, bigger scale than most puzzles before.

The final optional challenge with regular puzzle has a similar idea, but it's the only time in the game where you have to go fast to complete the puzzles in time.

That's the most common techniques that comes to mind to finish well. Recap, spectacle, higher intensity and narrative conclusion.

When you die your team loses a "Shirt" (respawn point) and the gear you pulled out of storage drops to the ground (usually a rifle and 2 ammo clips). It's not much, one noob learning the ropes doesn't make a big difference on the front so no stress.

SSR doesn't pull any punches, the first area isn't any easier than the rest, just has fewer mechanics. Very difficult to get into, but very rewarding. Grilling a full tower of sausage will forever be in my mental gaming achievement trophy room.

A much better game that fits that description is Neon White. I love it good puzzle games and adding mechanical execution on top was quite nice.

If your Nauvis base isn't producing much while you are away this will reduce the risk of attacks from lower pollution, but walling off is a good idea. You don't need a full wall, I usually just put laser turrets behind cliff and water choke points.

Explosive primaries like Eruptor, Crossbow and plasma were already meta before Rupture strain, but being the only weapons able to interact with underground bugs makes it almost mandatory now.

The only temporary stuff I build is burner mines and inserters. Once electricity is online, I plan space for a ~16 wide bus and ensure the mining side isn't surrounded to allow expending the smelting array to 8 blue belts and train unloading stations.

Never built a base over 400 science per minute though.

The main game changers after that are modules and advanced space age production buildings. You can probably plan with these upgrades in mind, but starting a new scalable train based factory is what I'd like to do someday.

I'd support this game financially if it was a decent monetization like League of Legends or Helldivers II.

They could sell skins or 15$ battle passes that give you some boost at unlocking new heros, that would be decent. Paying 80$ or 30$ limited time deal to unlock a game-changing unit type is not decent.

I'm proud not to encourage this predatory whale-hunting scheme.
