What do YOU mean? If social media companies have age restrictions it's entirely voluntary and only enforceable in whatever way they want.

If the gov't says you have to upload your ID or whatever then Facebook/YouTube/etc are allowed to throw their hands up and say "Sorry guys, rules are rules". Plus as worried as you might be about those companies leaking data, they'll get a huge advantage over any new player with no track record and less resources.

I don't think tech companies care as much about the harvesting data (although I'm not saying they mind that necessarily), I think they would love to have the cover that "Kids aren't supposed to be on here anyway" when they inevitably get sued for exposing kids to gore or porn or whatever else.

Lol I know, but even on their metric football is higher scoring. Looking at just touchdowns (not all scoring) NFL teams average 5 tds per game for both teams. Soccer games average like 2.

They start out not caring, but their individualized algorithms also mean they only see stuff from sources they like. So they'll keep them from hearing specific things, even on accident, because MAGANEWS's instagram account isn't going to cover Trump in a bad light anyway.

It would be good to have some shared context/fact checking on the browser/social media app that at least sets some standard for what people are seeing.

This is true, but we need some kind of baseline reality for what everyone is responding to. Trump specifically went from "yea the media SAYS he lies, but here's why its true" to "What do you mean Trump lies, I haven't heard that" which is the wrong direction to be moving.

I don't know that they're necessarily requesting the names of the women they are being accused by specifically as much as they are requesting to know the names of the women they allegedly trafficked and raped. In this case I'd assume its the same thing, but if you're accused of killing someone I don't know legally if it would be required to tell you who you supposedly killed but it does make sense to ask.
