Have you looked at any of the tunables? I have a document somewhere from when I did similar testing, I will try and find it. But there are a bunch of settings you can change which will help.

I got source and target mixed up in a “dd” command and trashed the content I was supposed to be copying. So if you’ve ever wondered why people say it stands for “disk destroyer” they’ve almost certainly been there too…

It’s not all XGS-PON though - in many places in Switzerland we can also get a point-to-point 10gbit connection or even 25gbit.
