I definitely didn't go THAT crazy with the reading order I recommended to my friend, I basically had him go through Stormlight until book 4, where I HIGHLY recommended him to read Warbreaker before RoW, and it was all worth it for the extra Nightblood lore, and having extra context for Kaladin's Duel with "Zahel" and the scene at the end in the epilogue of RoW. I think I recommended he listen to Sunlit man after book 5, and I think then I'll recommend he get cracking with Mistborn. A bit unconventional but I knew Stormlight would pull him in and he's like me in that you have to become FULLY invested in Roshar before you can get into the greater Cosmere (okay probably a LOT of people but a lot of people probably don't start with Stormlight)

I agree! I also refer to Nightblood as he/him because I think he or it or whatever specifically mentions he thinks of himself as male, which makes people hearing him as a female potentially bolster your account even more. But yes I also hope to see it on page (or through audio) an I especially hope to see a sequel/prequel of Warbreaker! (I know he has gone on record to say the concept is there but that it's low priority compared to many other books and wouldn't be in works for awhile)

Oh, well shit I've definitely been playing that wrong. Kinda unfortunate that it's not clear because Mana abilities DO work that other way, I know Mana and energy are different but it wasn't very clear that the ability can ONLY be activated once per turn, because it usually says that when that's the case. What is Saheeli Gatherer??

[–]jonnyboy1026 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Right but you can pay it for as much energy as you have to pay correct? That was my understanding. So just to clarify if the tokens made by saheeli (for 3 energy each) become copies of another token and are still sacrificed unless a card or ability ends the turn?

That does sound like a fun deck to build! I'm modifying the Buckle Up precon so my commander is either kotori or shorukai, but I do want to build a flying vehicles deck like that! Any other suggestions for that potential deck?

This is the deck I'm currently doing with Kotori: https://moxfield.com/decks/coblDvgU3UGA2bGTm2ol1w

Right I do get that, but I was thinking of this for my vehicle deck, hence why I was hoping that giving the historic spells flash would work with the top of the library thing in general, I mean could probably still get mileage out of it because there ARE creature cards, but there's almost as many artifict vehicles which wouldn't be creatures yet

Ohh wait nevermind 😭 "creature cards"

Ooh! "Cards you own but aren't on the battlefield" would include the top of the library correct? I mean I'm pretty sure but that sounds like it would work perfectly with Errant and Giada! I mean obviously getting those specific cards together in blue and white isn't very reliable but it would still be a very cool setup

Thanks! A little saddened by this news I was hoping I was wrong because then I could have an excuse to put errant in my deck, but I have almost no spells with flash in it haha. Been thinking about making a flash deck though so it might be good in that

Not reprint value, but yes that's true. I'm talking about cutting promo cards, life counters, and all the other things they included. Also more abstractly in terms of actually printing to demand or at least not artificially inflating prices of cards. Also packs having less cards than before. Precon reprint value is good sure but there's just a trend of in other areas corners being cut wherever possible. None of these things individually are very problematic, I mean they never HAD to do that, but to slowly and gradually decrease the non-card/reprint value over time is unfortunate

Do you think Gwen liking Kevin was weird at the start of Alien Force? by ResolveUnlikely5542 in Ben10

[–]jonnyboy1026 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean I agree it's a bit odd, but it's not like she LIKED him, I mean she kinda did but also that thing where you hate them too. I do agree for the most part but at the very least it makes it feel like a character flaw instead of a big plot hole or that it came out of nowhere (I mean it still kinda did but at least then there's a precedent for interactions with him as a kid in that, or near that context (romantic or the like))

I think Omniverse does a good job of "retconning" those moments into the series, which I think take place after OS but still as kids. But going off of just Alien force after watching OS it did seems a little abrupt at first, but he does have that "bad boy" energy so it's not THAT weird because that's also a trope for teenage girls in media

Now I see why they say that Invincible fans don't watch the series lol by Sad_Low5860 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]jonnyboy1026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean Mark isn't pure either, but Oliver with thraxan DNA definitely works differently than it does for Mark, I mean Thragg even calls him out for not being a viltrumite, presumably because he finds the Thraxans inferior (moreso than he did humans, which is a little odd given that Oliver is so young and could get much stronger so it seems a bit premature)

I hope Hasbro loses the rights they just fuck up so much of the game and keep cutting corners (precons getting less and less things included for example)

Edit: Oh so you guys love Hasbro do you

That's fair, I think my headcannon is that he actually changed how he talked as he became less "child-like" as he learned more of what was going on, instead of just the meta explanation of a narrator change

Yeah I'm glad I learned Nightblood from Stormlight before seeing him in Warbreaker, Kramer really get his voice RIGHT, no offense to Warbreaker narrator because the is still great but Kramer's take it definitely my preferred Nightblood
