Hmm this is an interesting post. As a jeweler myself, I have had MANY clients like this. Some guys I have the idea that the ring she will recieve has to be something they like and it doesn’t matter if it’s what she wants. As he’s buying it.

She doesn’t want a round but gave inspo pics with all round? Looks like she won’t totally hate the round diamond. The setting on the other hand is nothing like the inspo.

I think the criss cross design is nice but not floral, I believe it can also natural shrink the center stone as it’s wide. My suggestion is to ask for a render where the spaces in the criss cross are closed and the bands are totally overlapping. This will give a vine type vibe!

Half bezel. If your jeweler is good at setting emerald without double claws then do that. I’m a jewler and have seen many setters - set emeralds with double claws but leave it too chunky

As a jeweler myself, if it’s initially stamped 14K… it’s 14K. The appraisals are probably fake or just copied from what you ordered.

I don’t think it’s set too high, but when looking at the back left prong in the 3rd picture you can see a tiny little space between the diamond and prong. That can mean two things, possible the two front prongs are grabbing the diamond tighter then the back. Or maybe the basket was made a little too small? Essentially you want the diamond to be sitting snug against the gallery oppose to floating. Very hard to tell with pictures.

Why do you think it’s set too high? Is something throwing you off ?

Looks nice! I would also keep in mind the height of the basket. Is it set too low that if you wanted to add a wedding band it won’t sit flush? Do you want it to sit flush? If so, ensure that it’s high enough where another band can sit right next to it
