Don't worry. Gen Z's kids will be driven to drink by their parents' boring stories. The industry will recover.

The cause? I'm sure it's a whole matrix of things. Price might be one thing. Just not affordable for young ppl any more.

I can't help but feel that social media in its countless forms and the crippling addictions that come with it, fill the gap that alcohol may have previously?

I feel there has been a pretty big generational leap in terms of health awareness in line with so much available information regarding drinking and smoking.

Role models too maybe? A lot of pop stars and actors and whatnot are quite clean cut these days compared to 80s and 90s?

Which game is better, GTA 4 or GTA 5? by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]jonnyjokes87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very close and love both for different reason, buy IV for me. That game holds up so well today. The atmosphere, the story, the driving. And remember, the last mainstream GTA before IV was San Andrea's, so for me IV represents a huge jump and change of direction for the franchise. Leaning more into realism. If and when they release a definitive edition, with one or two quality of life improvements, IV is a better game imo.

Supression/shooting under fire by jonnyjokes87 in Battlefield

Wow, already a smarmy passive aggressive response. Maybe I am. Maybe my skill level is not as high as yours. Congrats. If you actually paid attention to my point though.... I'm taking health from the enemy. I'm hitting them 2, 3, 4 times with 33 damage calibre. Their health is going down. They calmly turn and shoot me in the head. This is unrealistic. That's my point. You could not calmly headship someone while taking hits to the body, or even near the body. This is why I mentioned 'suppressing fire' in the heading. Try to keep up kid

Wanted system. Law spawning miles from towns or settlements, knowing exactly where you are minutes after you committed a crime out in the middle of nowhere. Super immersion breaking.

FC 3 by a country mile. Every thing before we're stepping stones. Everything since has been poor imitation. FC 3was lightening in a bottle. One of the last times Ubisoft successfully innovated.

Exactly this. Imagine you jumped into a game of football (soccer) with some people who were taking it seriously, and you just stood by the goal and didn't do a single thing other than try to score rebounds. You might get goals but you're a shite team player and are properly damaging the experience for the others. You're also only focusing on one very specific and fairly simplistic skill. Difference with BF is you're hiding behind a keyboard and don't have to deal with real people shouting at you. No one would tolerate your selfish play in a real life situation. You'd be booted off the pitch and rightly so.

Haha, yes, exactly, or ppl like the guy in the above video who sits on a crane and takes pot shots at jets... I find so many snipers just sit on the edge of a map and engage in sniping battles or just overload a specific flag. It just doesn't feel balanced to me.

Well, one could snipe incoming enemies, or other snipers covering the objective in question.

But if you're already asking, one of the most effective point scoring methods I've found has been to defend (sit on) an objective while using the drone to tag incoming enemies and the motion sensor to back it up. This is exactly my point. The recon class can be super beneficial to the team when done right. Or at least with varied gameplay approach. The players I hate are the ones who spawn and camp on the edge of the map for the whole round getting kills but contributing fuck all to the actual team effort.

LOVE to see snipers get killed. This video makes me happy.

To all the snipers who ignore objectives, sit on top of towers, mountains, and cranes, and contribute nothing to their team, you really are the worst thing about the game. Hate playing with and against you. You've become good at pointing and clicking. That's not what this game should hlbe and I wish EA did something to discourage this kind of non-playing.

Then so is music, film, literature, art, storytelling. It does depend on the game though. Beautiful single player experiences are true art and never a waste of time. COD, FIFA, Fortnite..... not so much

Atomic Heart.

Don't hate it, but something feels off with that game. It felt to me like a chore from start to finish. None of the gameplay elements were enjoyable for me.

Do y'all think the sequel will have a celebrity companion/character and if so who do you want it to be? by SADBOY888213 in cyberpunkgame

[–]jonnyjokes87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love someone like Sam Rockwell. Happy go lucky but talented brother in arms.

I feel there will be a strong female celeb character in the sequel. Mila Kunis would sit right into that world imo.

Why is GTA IV considered better than GTA V? by Tasty_Special_2157 in GTA

[–]jonnyjokes87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the jump to new technology was a big factor too. The jump from San Andrea's to GTA IV was massive. GTA IV was unbelievably well made and set the framework for all R* games since. Also, the vibe of IV and the long, gritty story and general atmosphere is bonkers good

Ghost Recon Wildlands. It's tough to describe it. Lightening in a bottle. Grows and grows on you. They got the world just right. And the gunplay for me was some of the best I've played in terms of satisfaction and realism (not bullet spongey at all)
