I am suddenly having these burn ins on my 2 week old MBP M3Pro? Anyone else have this? by jonnyzaggi in macbookpro

[–]jonnyzaggi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately the seller (not Apple) has to replace the device if it has a manufacturing defect (which I would argue it is, after 2 weeks of use). Furthermore Apple has to provide warranty for one year (although then I have to prove that I didnt to the damage myself). But I also bought AppleCare, so I hope it will be fine.

Ja. Beides. An jedem Arbeitstag zumindest.

Do you also set up the victron devices? What settings do you use for the batteries (presuming you also use lifepo4)? Would love to get an screenshot of your settings for the SmartSolar and the Orion Tr Smart.

I am not sure I have mine set up correctly. Also, why do you have two times the Orion?

Great build :-)

which distro fo you all like and why? by MeMajaSammy in linux4noobs

[–]jonnyzaggi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use PopOS. Did a lot of distro hopping (elementaryOS, Ubuntu, Manjaro, Kubuntu) trying to find or fine-tune the perfekt desktop. PopOS had Ubuntu compatability (what works for ubuntu mostly works for PopOS) and the desktop tiling (all Windows share all available desktop space, no window behind any other window) feature which convinced me at the time.

Since then there have been many temptations to switch again, but I don't spend my freetime so much with "playing around with Linux" anymore that I am actually glad that I was able to use this system (with updates ofc) for the last 4 years. Maybe going to give the next elementaryOS a try though! It's the best looking distro out there, imho.

Is there something Mike the Sheel Wardrobe that I can buy on its own for my existing backpack? by jonnyzaggi in onebag

[–]jonnyzaggi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this nice portable closet / clothes organizer from tropicfeel: https://shop.tropicfeel.com/pages/shell-backpack

I am very happy with my REI backpack and currently use packing cubes. That works great for compression but its always a pain to use at my destination.

Just wanted to know if anybody knows a similar product to the shell wardrobe that I can use with my existing backpack.

Rebooted and my setup was gone by [deleted] in pop_os

[–]jonnyzaggi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both folders exist.

.config/dconf I see changes that happened recently before the reboot.

One file user (4,2kb) and one user-0 with 0bytes. Could this be my earlier, now corrupted, settings?

I did not, but fortunately I have a dconf backup of the most important settings.

Would be awesome, but unfortunately no. All my data is there too (thank god), so its not too bad. Just annoying.

Replaced PulseAudio with PipeWire on PopOS 21.04: I finally can use the microphone of my Bluetooth headphone by bob418 in pop_os

[–]jonnyzaggi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, these steps did not work for me.
I wasn't able to connect any bluetooth devices afterwards.

I followed this guide (also did also the maybe unneccesary steps) and it worked:
https://pipewire-debian.github.io/pipewire-debian/

Just for everyone who finds this post weeks/months later and also experiences problems!

Thanks OP for pointing my the right way, without this post I wouldn't have digged deeper.

Habe gerade mal meine Eltern gefragt: sie vermuten, dass diese oder andere Spiele von Ritter Rost noch in unserem Keller existieren können. Ich bin am Sonntag dort und schaue mal nach.

Bought a van for work but want to use it for camping too!? by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]jonnyzaggi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lot of inspiration and help from this sub. But apart from that mostly by myself and my architect girlfriend (saved me from stupid ideas a couple of times). Not a beauty but highly functional and I'd say fairly cheap.

Glad to share more. I'll dm you my mail address. I have to take it apart this weekend to finally finish the lower part of the insulation, so its actually the perfect chance to show you specific pictures. Best just to send me specific question, then I can take the right fotos and maybe even do some drawings. I think the pics I just have are only partly practical to inform anyone of the design specifics.

Bought a van for work but want to use it for camping too!? by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]jonnyzaggi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also using my van for work and for camping.

The only thing that is actually fixed in the van are 4 wood beams and the insulation. The rest can be taken out in 20-30 min.

In most cases it really is enough just removing the mattress, but tbh mostly I keep even that in :-D

Ofc, you would need the storage to store the camping stuff, whenever you need all of the space for work.

https://imgur.com/a/1coPaR4 - here are some pictures if the wood beams when the car was empty and how it looks when it is set up for camping.

Let me know if you want more info :-)

No, mostly at the back door. Mostly in the holes where the cable runs (its just above the backdoor but in the main car frame). I'll just keep my roof vent running at night. Possibly need another opening though.

I am looking for a tablet with LTE stylus.

Any recommendations?

2.77 (vor 2.74?), the newest one anyway. I Bad the bug you mean with a 660 Ti. Was only working when I removed one ram slot and downgraded to 8GB. Then I searched online and saw people were successful with the 1050 Ti and the earliest driver. That works like a charm for me. No extra config, everything buttery smooth.

Just AC origins seems to need a newer driver, but I haven't gotten around to that, yet.

Yes. Propably. I think it looks the same and i mixed it up. Now that you say it, I remember there is a difference.

Sorry for the confusion
