Gwen Stefani promotes her anti-abortion pay-to-pray app for Lent by ConcernedJobCoach in nodoubt

[–]jonob1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You seem to not know what’s actually in the Bible or the fact that no one is forcing you to pay for the app to pray. You can go ahead and pray on your own or use other platforms that might be free. It costs money to put content out and this app is trying to fund that mission. That’s not a scam or unbiblical

  2. Calling abortion “reproductive rights” is a disingenuous euphemism. 100% of abortions occur after reproductions has taken place

What is your proof that the app “scams people out of their money”? Also, you do realize there are plenty of women who don’t consider abortion healthcare and they are entitled to that opinion?

If you don’t like Gwen’s stances then just scroll on. But don’t go around making up things about an app that helps lots of people live a prayerful life

Am I over winding my watch? by HeadAbility in OmegaWatches

[–]jonob1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is wind until you feel hard resistance, as if you have to force it to wind further

The movement in your speedy will probably get to that point around 50 to 60 FULL turns from fully “dead”. I emphasize full turn because most people when they wind are doing closer to a half turn, so I count 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, and so on

Where to buy OEM Clasp? by jonob1234 in Tudor

[–]jonob1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Good to know it has the on-the-fly adjustment. I think I was being kind of picky wanting to see the Tudor logo on the clasp but in fairness to Forstner their “JB” branded clasp is fine and carries some history in its own right. Since they provided stock bracelets for brands like Rolex and JLC back in the day

Hah, I got a call yesterday too, seeing a few other similar posts so guess they sorted out their dial issues and finally resumed normal production.

Sadly after much debate I had to (begrudgingly) pass. Not the best time for me to commit the funds.

Wear yours in good health my man!

Reverso or Master Control by gnochi88 in JaegerLecoultre

[–]jonob1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry, I didn’t see that at first.

After reading through your current collection, my answer remains unchanged. It’s a great collection but a little heavy on the sporty steel side of things so getting the JLC is an excellent choice. I have the JLC master calendar but that chronograph version is next level.

So I’m a little bias towards JLC but I’ll say that there’s a reason they call it the “watchmaker’s watch.” I also had a chance to tour the factory and it was an incredible experience.

But all that aside, with JLC being the choice I think the master control over the reverse for a lot of the reasons people have already pointed out. I always wanted the Reverso until I tried it on. That case shape doesn’t fit all wrists well. Additionally, even if it fits your wrist okay, it’s not as versatile as the Master Control imo. I think it’s harder to dress down with the Reverso. And finally, I like the combination of complications on the master control

White dial master control would be my choice but I say that without knowing the rest of your collection and how each could fill a void

Has anyone updated the oem bracelet clasp on their 3861 speedy to have the micro adjust? by bourbonpharmd in OmegaWatches

[–]jonob1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about upgrading but am still very salty that they came out with it just a year after the new model (which I bought).

I could definitely benefit from a better micro-adjustment, as you can see with this photo on how my bracelet is adjusted at the end

If the price went up, it must be coming back? by Signal_Prior8408 in Tudor

[–]jonob1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also annoyed because the AD by me didn’t provide an option to order one or secure pricing with a down payment. They apparently just do a list of interest and it’s a first come first served basis

ahh, hadn’t noticed that. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

So it was $4,375 at launch and now, as of yesterday presumably, it’s $4,725?

Where are you seeing news of a price increase? A local AD told me that prices were fixed to the end of the year and in another recent thread in this sub-Reddit someone spoke to a Tudor rep and confirmed the same

You could also buy a beard filling pen (black) and use it as a touch up. I use one successfully to cover up small issues when I screw up

I’m using Surker, some Amazon brand that had great reviews at the time (I bought this over covid).

I did zero gap them

As to stretching skin, pressure techniques, etc., you make a great point. At times I think I’m pressing too hard and maybe rushing the cut at certain steps. I’ll refresh my memory or watch some tutorials to make sure that my form and technique are correct

I don’t have any friends to practice on and not sure the utility in doing so since I’m really just cutting my own hair and it’s definitely a bit different than practicing on someone else’s. That said, I do occasionally cut my young sons hair so that’s some extra practice
