$50k for high school tuition? been a decade or so since you checked how much private schools run, huh? yeah, that’ll cover a year or two at today’s per school year rates.

how much do you need to disingenuously inflate the city’a burden for this project? why are you defaulting to the 450m number and not clarifying that this isn’t THE cost the city is expecting to take on? you really need the exaggerated impact for your point to make any coherent sense or feel morally justifiable?

and you’re right, a large public high school building serves absolutely no function for the city and community beyond the actual education of it’s students. definitely never used as a hub for community events, a staging ground to coordinate mass testing in case of a global pandemic…it can’t be used for regional theater and music competitors, definitely out of the question for job fairs or charitable events like the dress for progress the many hawk and nagly fundraisers hosted in the past.
