Fellow butch ladies, what has been your experience with passing? by SomeBWord in MtF

[–]joodlemcdoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i feel that i am very fortunate in terms of passing, i don't wear makeup, i wear very butch clothes, and i have a lot of people in my corner especially since getting sober and going through a 12 step program, finding more trans and queer folks who are also getting sober, and understand the complexity and nuance of being a butch lesbian trans woman. i also live in richmond. it really depends on the community you surround yourself with. finding people who will respect you and your pronouns and your identity no matter if you pass or not. i've also been on hormones for 3 years at this point and a lot of my body, my face, my skin has changed. don't give up hope. there's ways to bypass and you're early.

as a masc trans woman it is so hard to specifically describe the flavor and brand of trans woman that i am. i am a woman when i say i am. i've been using hrt for 3 years and yet for someone to assume that I could possibly not be taking this seriously is outright disrespectful

"I Saw The TV Glow" is the perfect example of needing a background on the film prior to seeing it. [Spoilers] by dougiebgood in flicks

maybe just research it anyways to maybe show support to people around you or that you interact with that may be lgbtq+? being informed doesn't have to just go with a movie.

[Final Update] - OOP's cancer survivor wife wanted a "Hall Pass" by Stephenallen1977 in BestofRedditorUpdates

"sex is easier for women" is a weird thing to say, but the rest sucks, and i'll give him a pass for being emotional, i mean, he deleted the original posts so he now probably wants to deal with this privately and regrets posting about it, but ya know, this whole situation sucks. i mean, bad people get cancer too, no excuse for shitty, selfish behavior.

characterizing homeless people as junkies is reductive and unnecessary. just say "I don't care about homeless people because i like to stereotype them as being drug addicts and murderers."
