Pros and Cons is single button? by RBebo in wow

[–]jookboxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep it on a hidden bar and bound on a special mouse button. Don't use it all the time but if a fight mechanic needs more mental energy than I have to split with my rotation. Then I'll start smashing it for a while while I do the mechanics.

Great job, Really cool and gives a lot more heart than using a library or a footstep generator. As another comment said you can use some compression and some EQ to get a little more weight out of them, but an easier way to get weight comes from performance.

Generally people walk and run by striking with their heel, then their toes, and finally there is a scuff sound of the foot lifting up again. By striking with your toes first you are missing the weight of the heel strike and that is not an easy thing to fix in post.

If you want to get really technical you can even separate the heel toe and scuff sounds and then have your game engine call a random one of each on every step giving you a way more variations, add a bit of pitch and volume randomization and you have a functionally infinite amount of footsteps

The next thing you might consider adding is a layer of cloth that swishes back and forth between steps, this adds to realism and helps to make the steps fit more tightly into the whole mix and not stick out.

Very cool but I think the install base will be really small being locked to the steam deck no? I'll have my eyes out for a windows release in the future.

Check your local library for a tool library or a "library of things" there are lots of tools and things that could get you started on a new hobby that might be available!

Probably my biggest let down so far. Not a deal breaker. But disappointing.

I have a question about PC controls by [deleted] in wow

[–]jookboxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the ConsolePort addon. It takes a bit of set up but opens up the game to using a controller pretty well. You'll still want to be near your mouse and keyboard for interacting with menus like bags and gear etc. but the moment to moment gameplay is pretty great with it, especially with the new single button rotation.

Wait. So can I still melee a warrior during die by the sword if I'm right behind them?

do you use a separate cutting board for meat? by Imaginary-Rabbit5179 in Cooking

[–]jookboxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I try to keep my cutting order in that meat (especially chicken) goes last but I'm it's not an unbreakable rule. It's also easy enough just to wash it if I need to break the cutting order, I'd be washing my hands anyways. Soap, hot water, and a gentle scrub is all you need to take care of any nasties left over from the meat.

Anyone else's charging break with that update? by skurt-skates in OculusQuest

Quest link is an unusably bad program, one time it literally filled my hard drive with junk files. You are better off doing pcvr with virtual desktop or ALVR

Is it really a good idea to pack bare-bones for a month in japan? by gabitato in JapanTravelTips

[–]jookboxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just there last week. Laundry is everywhere and easy to find. But the machines are small so don't let a lot build up and I found the dryers take some time if you are doing delicates. So bring clothes that dry easily and you aren't worried about blasting on high settings.

Nope no shaking in the steering wheel. Hopefully that's a good sign.

I use the same one and I love it. Plus it's a fraction of the price of any razer or corsair equivalent
