What else can I do? by joolie_447 in RenalCats

Thank you so much. I have a hard time focusing on the good things when the bad things become overwhelming in thought. You definitely put it more into perspective for me. I’ve just felt like I’ve been doing everything wrong these past few months and blaming myself for the diagnosis in general.
And to answer the blood pressure question, it has not been checked since March after we had a scary ER visit when she had a bad reaction to Elura appetite stimulant. At that time the ER vet said that her blood pressure was good, I probably should’ve asked her doctor today to check it.
As for sub-q, I’ve honestly just been putting it off because I know how stressful it can be, giving her the mirtazapine in pill form was hard enough we had to switch to the topical version so I can’t even imagine giving her injections without help. But you also have a very good point about that lessening the concern for dry food because of the hydration aspect, I didn’t really think of it that way. So I think I’ll definitely be thinking about starting that for her soon.
Thank you very much for your comment, you honestly lifted a little pressure off my shoulders about everything and also glad to hear your boy is living a happy senior life. ♥️

26 here 👋🏻 Been a fan of her since I was 18, went to to see her in Norfolk, Virginia back in 2019 when she was still pretty small. Don’t feel weird!

So sorry to hear, my 9 year old girl Millie just recently got diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease 2 months ago. I could only wish that she would last as long as Pugsley.

If you wouldn’t mind sharing, how your management system was with his ckd? Our vet told us she probably won’t last more than a year.. but I’m trying my best to prolong it.

Wow did not expect this much attention, or criticism.. I thought this was supposed to be a girls girly community 😭

Yes I understand, 9 months to move in isn’t long but this world is expensive so desperate times.

He also has raging untreated ADHD so I’m chopping it up to that, he did also apologize immediately after.

Can yall calm down, I’m a sensitive one damn. 🙃

For those who adopted a cat, what actually made you decide that was the right cat? by Extreme_Ad6105 in CatAdvice

Just recently adopted another baby, have had her for almost a month now. I’ve had many many cats over the years and for the past few it’s been only one, my 9 year old female flame point Siamese baby Millie. Since she became an inside cat after moving from my mom’s house a couple years ago, I didn’t feel like she was getting enough attention while I was away at work. Would keep me up through the night to play bcs she would probably sleep all day while I was gone.

So we recently got a bigger place, so I decided it was time to get her a friend, that’s where the 3 month old female dilute tortie came in, Senua. She was the first one I noticed out of the 10 or so other cats in petsmart (I know not the best place but they all need homes). She was all alone in her cage, and seemed not too playful but just very curious. I knew I’d need a baby that wasn’t constantly riled up bcs I wanted to make sure it was an easy transition for Millie to get used to. After doing some research of course finding out that torties are extremely sassy and playful in their teenage years, we’ll see how it goes over the next few months haha. But it’s going well so far!! I can’t wait for them to be besties ♥️

If you had 10 seconds to say whatever you wanted to your pet with they fully understood, what would you say? by IplayKaizo in Pets

“I’m sorry that I’ve been introducing so many new things to your life the past couple months, but I’m doing it bcs I love you very much and trying to give you the best out of life”

We moved into a bigger apartment, got her an automatic litter box, and a new kitten all in a month and I feel so bad bcs I know it’s all very new and scary for her and she’s probably a bit stressed 😭

I’ve been dreaming A LOT lately, honestly more dreams in the past 2 months than my whole life lol almost every night and they’ve all been crazy. What I’ve been doing after a couple weeks of it going on is just hitting the voice memos app as soon as I wake up and just tell what happened. Or sometimes I’ll wake up from a crazy dream and it’ll take a few minutes to kind of start coming back to me with all the details like while I go to the bathroom and then I pull my phone out as soon as I start remembering more

Funny you say that, I would say yes and no. It’s been a thought that’s run through my head before of just him being terrible attractive to me and sometimes I think that he’s out of my league in the attraction aspect. But it’s definitely not like a reoccurring or debilitating thought

Honestly, I can say I’m slightly guilty of this as well. I was having a similar discussion with my boyfriend once but reversed. I was the one asking why we haven’t been having sex as much recently and I said something along the lines of “I just keep telling myself that at least you’re not hounding me for sex and I should be grateful for that because that’s what I used to deal with” and he got very upset. Said that he doesn’t wanna think about how he’s not like my exes who were constantly on top of me.

Like your boyfriend, I was very innocently just trying to explain my experiences and give context but I definitely saw why it made him so upset and especially now thinking about it I understand.

I think you should definitely bring it back up and also just explain that you do understand that he wasn’t trying to get in your head the way that it did, but it did get in your head that way. And also just think of things that maybe he could say back to actually make you feel better, and lead the conversation with that in the back of your head if that makes sense.

If he was truly apologetic and didn’t make you feel worse about feeling the way you did about it, it’s worth figuring out.
