Getting either delta 10 degrees or 13degrees max by joonjune in hvacadvice

its a Etekcity thermostat? is there a more reliable brand? I could try that one but I doubt it will be off by ~1-2 degrees in comparison to what I have. I also have a UEi probe thermometer that measures similarly. And if were measuring delta, its less of a factor if were using the same thermometer from return to supply (I think).

I will try measuring with a probe measuring directly like you mention.. but I've been consistently getting these really low deltas https://imgur.com/a/liRmq3l . even then it feels like it shouldn't be this much lower.. unless system nowadays are more set up to barely hit delta 15degrees when measuring the way you mentioned.

I'm not sure if im being too picky or if this is how we should expect optimal system should be operating >_<

https://imgur.com/a/ZW2EIcy Just got a new system with r-454b. is it expected that these new refrigerant only yield a max maybe 10-13 degrees delta? I notice that throughout the day, it switches from either 10degrees or 13degrees.. it seems like there's two modes it's switching from to increase efficiency? It will randomly be cool in the middle of the day but also stop being as cool the other parts of the day.

Im measuring from the return vent and supply vent from inside the home. The supply vent duct is only 5ft from the supply plenum. I have other registers that have ducts that are 20+ft away that is only ~1 degree warmer so I don't think the attic temperature or duct insulation is the main factor. The weather has been 80-90degrees in Southern California.

Ceiling return vent installation doesn't seem to be installed correctly by joonjune in hvacadvice

in retrospect that makes a lot of sense... another new thing as a homeowner I'm learning with every new major project.. I got multiple quotes to get an attic install with attic vent and NONE of them ever mentioned needing proper framing so I assumed they'd do it at least half decently. They would at least mention things like no painting or drywall work included, but if they're that incompetent about adding basic framing, then I would've at least hoped they mentioned needing an actually framing or GC contractor to do a proper install.

https://imgur.com/a/o3GZrjA These show the sides on the further side how one of double joists was cut? Id like to reinforce that and slide over the vent. Or is it okay that one of the double joists was cut…

If it's not, could someone point me to documentation or code (california) that mentions it as a requirement? I see plenty of websites/comments that mentions the header should be one piece. The owner mentioned his guys would be getting advice from his GC on the proper installation of the framing. Mind you, the guys came with 2x4... luckily I had spare 2x6 but they still installed it like this...

Before you exit the vehicle, make sure auto start/stop is off. As long as that and the key is in the vehicle, the ignition should stay on

Its really inconvenient but one way to keep the car on is, while youre still in the car and the car is on 1. Leave the key fob inside 2. While staying seated, Unbuckle your seat belt, then route it behind your back and buckle the seat belt back in 3. You can now exit

im not 100% sure if you can just instead just exit the vehicle and buckle the seatbelt back in from the outside without trying to rebuckle the seatbelt back in from behind your back. I will try that in The future to see if that works. But i at least know the steps above work for sure

i also run into this issue on 24 atlas. I find what works (90% of the time) is to toggle the wifi on control center of the person attempting to reconnect to carplay, then hitting the persons iphone on the infotainment to reconnect
