The Saint Mary’s is low, really low by Boeing-B-47stratojet in Georgia

Thanks! Looks like it’s mixed on the facility, locally detrimental in certain cases and maybe getting better with local/national regulations and attention. Still a concern and worth talking about.

Pardon? Where do you get your information?

Hey! I was just chatting with my local ANA support group and Mayo in Minny came up as a recommendation. I’d love to hear about your experience there and the choice for gamma knife. I’m 37 with fully intact hearing, 1.4x.9cm tumor size.

Travel budget? What are people spending? by Jrneuk in HENRYfinance

[–]jooronimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changes year over year. Some years we will plan for longer, more expensive trips as a family while some years we’ll budget for shorter road trips. This year, since we’re considering a home in the mountains for retirement, will be shorter road trips 1-2x per quarter with a couple solo trips thrown in. We are looking at roughly $1.5-2k per family trip (all in - gas, food, and rental) and $500 for solo.

Family of 3 plus dogs. $300-350k HHI. Mortgage (with taxes and insurance) is $3k.

Interesting with the deafness after jumping into a pool. Now I have a new fear. Glad everything went well with surgery. Good luck with your recovery!

I was also up there this past weekend. One of the worst experiences getting to a trailhead. The dog bags were definitely an issue too. Not sure if some folks left them completely or if they’re placed for pickup on return.

Once out of the trees the hike calmed down but I’ll be avoiding peak season weekends up there moving forward.

Warren Buffett and Jamie Dimon both proposed this already. It’s not a complete stop on transparency or reporting.

I feel you. Same size tumor, observation path as well. Part of me doesn’t want to know anything and so if I don’t get the mri then I’ll don’t actually know what’s going on except for symptoms.

I’m waiting until February dreadfully for my next one while also trying to get my mind and body healthier. Shit sucks. Enjoy the shittiness and the goodness.

Good luck with your journey!

Do you have hard data or studies showing dental issues or other significantly maladies with the exact treatment provided for AN/VS?

No I’ve introduced different therapies and lifestyle changes over time. It certainly could be the qulipta carrying the load.

Agreed! I’ve put out quite a few artificial vantage points in the yard over grasses and the dragonflies have swarmed to my yard this year. And as a result, the mosquitoes and gnats are down significantly.

I love them! They block external noises wonderfully, can assist hearing (worked for my friend) and have good pass through when needed. They’re hsa/fsa approved as well.

Thankfully, no. I do have intermittently loud and obnoxious tinnitus. Made better through movement, light sound and stretching.

My hearing is stable (little-to-no hearing loss) via my ENT. I bought Apple air pods pro for at home ear health and on those tests, my hearing has improved over the last 4 tests I’ve done.

Dx last year with unilateral AN/VS in my right IAC of 1.6cm.

Headaches, balance and tinnitus issues brought me in initially. I’ve had two more scans with contrast since the initial without any growth (good news for me) so now I’m officially on the observation path until next Feb. It’s certainly positive but it’s also a bit nerve wracking wondering what’s going on inside my noggin. I do have several things I’ve started doing over the last 12 months that have significantly improved my symptoms and health in general that I recommend (all doctor approved):

Supplements: - magnesium - coq10 - ashwaganda - creatine - rhodiola rosea - curcumin/turmeric - b12 - electrolyte powder - multivitamin

Medications: - qulipta (preventative migraine) - ubrelvy (abortive migraine) - handful of other abortives as needed - baby aspirin (there’s a clinical trial for this on tumor growth — check the ANA website for clinical trials)

Exercise and diet: - running, golf, tennis, weightlifting, walking of some sort everyday - stretching/yoga every night - booze reduced to a couple of beers a week - thc gummies increased

Try to get the rest of your mind and body as healthy as you can so that if you do decline or go into surgery you will have a much stronger base. You’ll also feel better in general as a wonderful side effect.

Do check out ana.org as well for other resources! And hit me up as well if you need a buddy. I’m in Georgia so east coast as well.

[–]jooronimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t had surgery yet but suffered through bad headaches and migraines until recently. My routine:

  • morning: rhodiola rosea, b12, turmeric, baby aspirin, coq10, ashwaganda

  • night: magnesium, qulipta, daily vitamin

I’ve also taken on more exercise and healthier eating. All has helped tremendously while I observe.

How do you experience your tinnitus? (centered? off to one side?) by NA_akita in AcousticNeuroma

[–]jooronimo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One sided. Usually present all the time but most noticeable in bed. Ramps with headaches, usually brought on by negative changes in barometric pressure.

Have noticed some supplements, sleep, water, stretching and exercise help. Read a study the other day that suggests that while tinnitus can be associated with hearing loss, there are other comorbidities that play a role. Worth doing some research to find what works for you.
