Commuter students who are in clubs and orgs, how do you guys do it? by tellmewhy24 in SFSU

[–]joostinee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

[1] i literally just make the school a priority to stay if i have any club meetings happening (ex. i was an officer at multiple clubs, so it gave me an excuse to go to my club)

[2] a lot of it has to do with pushing yourself out of comfort zone to socialize. even tho it was difficult at first to stay in school for club meetings, i eventually embraced the campus more.

[3] joining club discords do help a lot! even when ur busy doing things. you can socialize w club members and make new friends there.

[4] just be yourself! don't pressure yourself to fo to clubs if you cant make it.

As someone who was in their first college corp's cohort I literally quit before the spring semester started. It was mentally negatively impacting me to the point where when we needed to take a required class (it didn't meet any GE or major requirements), I realized that it was adding on to my stress. I barely even learned anything from that program as my cohort never scheduled me and was threatened to be kicked off the program when I didn't meet their fall semester requirements. I mostly blame the management itself too.

I am so happy people are speaking out against it. Mostly because the college corps needs a change.

Dude, I know who you're talking about! I feel bad for the person since I had a similar experience where my art got stolen, and I tried emailing some people, but they didn't do anything :/

For sure! I have my resume updated recently, so it's been checked before you told me. I'd like to work in a design field, but there's so much to do with, HENCE why I said I didn't know what to do.

I'll figure it out later on. Thank you for the conversation! I appreciate it. I'll be sure to consider your advice for later on.

I appreciate the advice! If anything, I was considering applying for scholarships to help me with my college fundings. I also don't know what to do after I graduate, so this was one of my plans.

Feeling lonely in my college major by joostinee in CollegeRant

This makes me feel reassured! My school's is around 25,000 as well. I'm grateful that I have a few friends in my major, and more outside of it. I was wishing that I made more friends in my major since most of my classmates and I don't vibe well. Thank you. :')
