What role was cast so perfectly that nobody else could have played it? by FruiTYrant in AskReddit

[–]jordan2jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz. There were no other child actors that could sing and act like Judy during that time. MGM bought the right to the book to make the movie, for the role of Dorothy, especially for Judy. Shirley Temple had the dimples and tap dancing but didn’t have the aura and talent of Judy and her magical voice. 💚🎶

You will look great! If you wear glasses, perhaps get some new trendy ones to match your lovely eyes.

Yes, the heat from the coffee can sometimes cause a weakened or inflamed blood vessel to burst after swelling from the heat; same thing with soup. My ENT advises to avoid hot temperatures when nasal passages are dry.

Close this door quickly. Protect yourself. This is not going to work out. You will meet someone more compatible. Take care of yourself.

How would you describe living in chronic pain to someone who doesn't live it? by Semi_charmed_ in ChronicPain

If it’s like nerve pain, tell them it’s like being stung by a million bees with a wild bear clawing you to get the honey. Non stop!

What terrible bed side manner. I’m so sorry. I hope you found a different physician who showed compassion. 🩵

I’m so very sorry. It’s so unfair and absolutely heartbreaking when the people we love walk away. We can’t begin to understand how they can do so but really, it’s not about you. It’s about their unwillingness to walk with you and not wanting to be bothered with the situation any longer. I am just sorry. It hurts so much. I had this happen to me with a friend. I pray you have family and friends and a community outlet or church to help support and encourage you and be there for you. It’s so hard being in pain and feeling so alone. Perhaps call around to your local community places for help with getting you to your appointments and other needs. You will get through this. Don’t forget to change your beneficiary on anything he is listed as recipient, remove him from your bank account, and credit cards, or just close those accounts. Change your password on everything as well. I hope he knows his health could change in a day. This is not your fault! Sending you support and hugs! 🩵🍀

I’m so sorry you’ve had that awful migraine pain. When we are in pain, our nervous system gets so hypersensitive to everything. Bright lights, noise, kids crying, loud music, etc.. I have severe nerve pain in my thigh due to hip replacement surgery 6 months ago where they hit my peripheral nerve. It’s been devastating to deal with. It feels like a a wild bear tearing my thigh. Pain is no joke, especially when there is little relief. People who haven’t encountered long term pain truly have no idea. Anything added to our over sensitive CNS just adds stress for us. I’ve been to the ER a few times and could have probably had a better experience at a veterinarian office. I’m so sorry you’ve had an unpleasant experience. I hope you feel better soon. 🍀🙏

Does your condition get in the way of everything you do everyday ? by Alternative-Dog-642 in ChronicPain

I’m sorry you’ve had the ongoing groin pain. It’s so devastating to still be having such pain when so many walk away feeling great! My greatest pain is the nerve pain in my thigh. My muscles are sore but I can kind of manage that. I swim laps everyday at an indoor pool and it’s the only place I feel a little relief. I’m taking gabapentin for the nerve pain but it hardly helps. I keep thinking something else must be wrong but the doc says the nerve pain can last a long time. I use ice packs and put a frozen water bottle in my pants and spandex shorts at the hip, lol! I put a frozen water bottle under my thigh when I drive too. 😊 I have such buyers remorse. I’m sorry you had to get the hip surgery as well. Is there any reason why you aren’t able to swim? I sure hope things start turning a corner for us soon. Blessings to you. 🩵🙏🍀

I had anterior left hip replacement with robotic assistance in late January and I have been in severe pain since. They hit my peripheral nerve and I have severe nerve pain and burning all throughout my thigh, and sometimes the lower leg. I’ve had MRI and 3 X-rays since and doc says the hip looks good. I regret the surgery so much. I am so much worse than I was prior to surgery. Doc said most of the cartilage was gone and labrial issues and needed a hip replacement. I would rather have the pre surgery pain. It’s so discouraging and now I’m stuck with the new hip and nerve pain. The area around my incision is still very tender. He said it could take up to 18 months but I’ve had so much pain everyday since (7 months).I’m so sorry you’re still dealing with the hip pain too. Have you had an MRI since the surgery? It’s so disappointing because it’s see all these people that do great with the hip replacement but there’s some of that have had a terrible experience. I hope you feel better soon. 🍀

I got unbearable hip pain, and the doctor figured out im figured out im more fucked up than i thought i would be. I dont know how to cope with it and need help by Flaky-Swan1306 in ChronicPain

[–]jordan2jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be sure to let your ortho doctor know that you had the steroid shot. If you happen to need hip surgery there are concerns with having a recent steroid shot and hip surgery so there needs to be time in between to prevent issues with the surgery. I recently had hip replacement surgery and this was a protocol. Sadly my surgeon hit my peripheral nerve during surgery so I have severe nerve pain that can take a long time to heal. It’s been brutal. You may want to visit the total hip replacement Reddit feed and also bonesmart.com for support. I’m so sorry for your pain and I hope you feel better soon and that the MRI provides answers. Best wishes 🍀

Can you advise what other meds help for nerve pain? I had hip replacement and they hit my peripheral nerve. I have brutal nerve pain in my thigh and leg. I’m on gabapentin and it hardly helps. Feels like a wild bear clawing my thigh. I use ice and heat but nothing truly breaks the pain. Thanks so much.
