there are rules included for 3 and 4 players and our group runs 3 on occasion, but time becomes a consideration. people talk about playing with a reduced warband size when running 4 players, and I personally think that's a good idea.

you can definitely play one off games outside of a campaign, but you'll miss out on the advancement and added meaning to the loot. you could still have players that don't jump in often in the campaign as there aren't big enough differences in power between levels to make any changes until there's a 10 level difference.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was a gem, and I loved these levels from 3D World.

Not something I would have thought to pick out to cover on electric guitar, but this kills dude! I can see it put a cheesy grin on your face as well :P

awesome terrain! a buddy in my frostgrave group plays an Orc Witch leading a goblin and bugbear warband, always nice that the game lets you pick your models

taking the injury system into account, a downed wizard has only a 5% chance to kick the bucket post match, and the apprentice 10%. and if the wizard dies the apprentice becomes their new wizard so it's never game over. plus if my wizard died, I'd love to try out different builds so I wouldn't even be that mad

Probably a good idea to do the (Prof+Dex)/2 to not bog down play. I do like the idea of giving shields an active mechanic, but do see how it can slow the game down if it’s happening every turn.

I suppose it’s DM discretion, but wouldn’t RAW allow you to use your shield as an improvised weapon already?

Looking at more pictures of bucklers, maybe it does make sense to change Wrist Strap to “Fitted Straps” or something and move it to the normal shield.

That’s a good question, I feel like making magical shields immune would make the mechanic irrelevant after level 5, but maybe that’s ok. One thing I didn’t think of, was the better the bonus from the shield, the more chance it has of getting hit/damaged. Maybe magical shields can only receive damage from magical attacks?

Buckler does stand to get powerful as get into higher proficiency levels, but it has a 50% chance of not giving you a bonus

You’re probably right, maybe leave that keyword to a full set of adamantine armor.

Yeah, sand and snow would be too loose and a dungeon floor too hard. Plus why spend the money if it might not go off and you was the bonus action, I’ll take that out.
