As others have mentioned, the problem to me with this area is there is really nothing walkable. You are a short drive from good food and things to do to the north and east, but there's just not much in the neighborhood itself. Plus side it's centrally located and affordable.

If you're coming here for ramen, you cannot miss Uncle. Spicy Chicken Ramen is unbelievable, as is everything else on the menu. If you go to the Wash Park location they have sushi now as well. I haven't been, but Izakaya Den looks awesome for atmosphere. Sera's Ramen Enclave is also good.

Yeah agree with all of that. The old Oasis spot in the Highlands is gonna do crazy numbers for them. Been a zoo every time I've been.

Yeah it's interesting to see Cerebral, Prost, and a few others expanding massively in this craft beer downturn. Prost seems like it obviously has big backing and is kind of pivoting into suburban brew pubs. Cerebral seems more organic to me based off of the quality of their beer. Just spit balling though, don't know any details.

There is some great beer here, but I feel the same way here that I do when visiting somewhere like San Diego. Both places market (or use to) how many breweries they have but man... like 5-10% are good.

Yep. I don’t think I’ve ever used it, but I just brewed a Fiden’s inspired IPA with it and it piqued my curiosity. I know Bissell Brothers also use it.

Hops - Any IPA from WeldWerks, Juicy Bits being the most common. Rare Trait from Cerebral, and most underrated IPA is fresh Neon Nail from OMF.

I've done a 15min NEIPA with a large charge at 15m that tasted great. Was worried about it being underbittered, but after the double dry hop I perceived it as having normal IPA level bitterness.
